Here might be a handy tip. Instead of downloading an image, as this may not always be possible, do a ‘Screen Capture.’ This is such a simple process, just as many steps as downloading. Most computer keyboards have a key that is labeled, PRT SC. Using this method allows you to copy and use any image on the internet. Screen captures can be done on tablets and smart phones as well!

Hmm I do not have that but I have an Apple computer and a Ipad that may be why. I do have some app that allows me to screen shot stuff which I use all the time but the reason I downloaded this is because I had to buy it on Etsy . Not sure what gives the person on Etsy the rights to sell it but they did and I bought it. I figured that would make it ok to use the grinches image.

This Grinch Tree is absolutely adorable!! I just subscribed to your channel about a week ago and have watched about a dozen videos so far and each one brings me so much JOY! I am curious, have you used Alcohol Ink to color your glass instead of painting them? If so, what kind of results did you get? I have watched a handful of artists use alcohol inks to color their glass and it seems to work very well and is highly customizable......Given the ridiculous price gouging that Krylon has done with their "Glass" spray paints, I thought alcohol ink might provide you a huge cost savings because you only need a few drops of it to color a 1 Cup batch of glass. Plus, alcohol ink is translucent and dries very fast. I know artists who create alcohol ink ornaments which they do not intend to cover in resin afterwards, will spray them with one light coat of Krylon Kamar Varnish to seal the alcohol ink. Another artist I watch, mixes a spoonful of DecoArt DuraClear (Liquid) Gloss Varnish with 1-2 drops of Let's Resin alcohol ink in a Dixie cup, which creates her own translucent glass paint. She had paints her designs on glass or clear acrylic and then when it's dry, covers it with resin. Theoretically, you could do the same technique, but use a bigger cup and mix the glass into the cup, then spread it out on a covered cookie sheet to dry. Just some alternative coloring methods which could save you money over the price gouging by Krylon and give you the option of custom coloring your glass vs being restrained by the spray paint colors available. I have used it a few times and 1 time it totally disappeared. I know some people seem to have luck and others have problems with it fading and the red running. Maybe if it is sealed first. I have been able to find some krylons at regular prices from ace hardware. But have been using Tamyia a lot and honestly they do not ever run or fade.I put the yellow out in the sun for over a month and compared it to a control I kept inside and they were the same color. ( I live in Florida) Yes the alcohol ink is so much cheeper I think for the crushed glass I have not had problems not sure why all I could think of is that because the texture is rough it is somewhat absorbed in. Where as the chunky glass is what I had a problem with. I believe some of my earlier videos I colored a lot of crushed glass with alcohol ink. I think red is the only color that doesn't come out a true red. Watch this video of mine and what happened. By the way welcome and i love that you are enjoying my videos . When you are talking about the "chunky glass", I know you use the Celestial Fire Glass often, is that the kind of glass you had trouble with? I know the Celestial brand fire glass is superior to many other brands of fire glasses for its intended purpose. Perhaps one of the ways they are able to achieve the lasting color and shine quality of their glass is because their manufacturing process includes a powerful sealing agent....and maybe that sealer is preventing the alcohol inks from taking the color alone. I bet if you mixed the alcohol ink with the DecoArt DuraClear Gloss Varnish, the varnish would allow the pigment of the ink to adhere to the fire glass or any other chunky glass for that matter. Essentially, it would be like applying a translucent, color tinted varnish to the glass. Heck, if you are going to make your own colored glass from thrifted glass, you could even pre-apply a quick coat of the ink + varnish mix to the piece, let it dry and then cut up the glass! It would be all ready to go for you! Tumbling it in water for 1-2 hours should not remove the varnished color at all! Other artists have said that they are able the thin down the DecoArt Duraclear Gloss Varnish with water and it sprays beautifully from a small desktop size airbrush, which aren't too expensive. Maybe just another option in your arsenal of tricks to try! 😃

Well that could be with the alcohol inks as far as the celestial fire glass goes. Not sure but I did do an experiment with it and alcohol ink that I have not done a video on yet and in this case it stuck and faded some. I have no idea why it totally disappeared on mine.The varnish and alcohol ink together is a possibility but it will come off with tumbling because the abrasiveness of the tumble is what dulls or removes the sharp edges but it is worth a try. I do have both. Nice to hear someone thinking of other ways to color glass. That varnish has an awful smell and to me the spray paint is so easy. The tamiya is not expensive small bootle but very concentrated. But yes thanks for the suggestions!
