Yes, I've searched many videos and this is the simplest and most correct steps in the testing process. Issue is those repair joiners aren't easily available, which is a problem when the broken wire is too short to be rejoined...need to add some extra wire, adding 2 joiners.

I use it to find problems on the boundary wire for my Husqvarna automower. It is usually easy enough to see where the problem might be if rabbits have been digging. But today I found a loss of signal on a stretch of wire where there was no obvious animal invasion. I cut out the relevant area of wire and on investigation afterwards found that there was a very minor break in the insulation which resulted in marked corrosion of the wire. I could never have detected this otherwise. Thoroughly recommended!

I have the same issue, blue light but your equipment says it's ok (cont lamp blinking and I checked sound around the lines at several checkpoints). I also noticed that when it happened - when I got the blue light - that the mower had moved over the cable line with about 50 cm which I found very strange given that the lawn is flat, any ideas? @grimsholm

Does it work, when the cable is some centimeters underground?

Thanks for your message. It can be a challenge to catch the signal from the cable with the receiver if the cable is underground even if it´s only some centimeters. But you can still use the instrument to locate the break by "point measuring" and then surround the break. Yes, it does. But you need to test one wire at a time. Start with the boundary cable and test in CONT mode as per the instruction video. If the boundary cable is ok you then move one of the clamps to each of the GUIDE wires and this way you can find if there is a fault on any of the GUIDE wires. And when you have found which of the wires that is the problem you can then start to search for the fault in the TONE mode. Note that this equipment detects signal from a visible cable or if the cable is very close to the lawn surface. If the cable is buried deeper in the ground you do measure on different points and this way surrounds the fault. Good luck with finding the fault in your installation!

If the charge station is working correct and it is indicating blue blinking light there is probably some kind of damage on the cable. If the signal cable tracker can get signal through the cable it can be a tricky fault to find as there is no break on the cable but still somewhat damaged. Sometimes expert with advanced equipment is then to recommend to find the damaged place on the cable. We hope you do find the fault in your installation.

Just received cable tracker, watched the video... why the F it cant track cable underground..what's the point then...I mean who keeps cable above the ground? Jesus F Christ! Challenge for the user to find damaged part without digging out whole cable, that should be the whole point!

Thats what I thought too. What is the point if you cannot find the cable underground.

The signal is so week that if you cant see the break with your own eyes. don't bother buing this thing. Waste of money.

just used a copy verson of this to find the brake and i would never have found it in any other way. it was under one of the plugs. gl with seeing that with your eyes :P
