I have been to many raves in an art gallery. A place called the Garage Gallery in LA. One section is for the only stage. The other is the art exhibit. Mostly psychedelic pieces. More for mature people, for everyone was respectful. No one littered or fought anyone. No one damaged the artwork. Everyone had a great time. If anyone lives in LA, check it out when quarantine is lifted. Hopefully they still throw raves.

@@zedboy9999 💯💯💯 yeah I've seen every interview with her from the beginning and you're absolutely right and that's exactly how she would put it and that's where she's the most comfortable. In fact just to put this out there for those who are new to crimes and don't know this; she really only ever took the stage out of necessity.... She has never liked her own seeing me very much but she had to do it because she had no one else.... So that's how she started. And also for those who are new she was a bit of a prodigy with ballet I guess I think she's probably a prodigy with everything she does right how could she not be... Intense. That's the word she chose to describe her relationship with ballet before she quit.

Grimes has genuinely made me feel more comfortable with embracing myself and my own uniqueness, whereas most other artists give me a constant sense of pressure to be more beautiful and have expensive things. Grimes truly is a breath of fresh air and is expanding our soul's expression as humanity in her music and i love her so much for it, would love to be friends.

oooooh unfortunate timing to be getting into Grimes. She is independent now with 2 kids so new music is going to be very very scarce, but her discog is still very expansive and you can go down a rabbit hole of unreleased/demos if you really wanted to lol. Just def dont expect to see any new stuff from her any time soon haha. And yes, she is a literal artistic genius, but she doesn't like the fame and spotlight that she gets from album drops and touring. That may explain why she isn't uber-famous. Have fun exploring the monolith that is Grimes and her art!

No one can contest the fact that this is probably one of her best, if not most impressive, releases in her entire discogrpahy so far, even with Miss Anthropocene considered (which Grimes reckons is her best work yet). Put a pair of good headphones on and you will be spoiled with layers and layers of detail led by an undeniably clever, sick beat. The 'break-it-down' sections are out-of-this-world. Inviting Janelle for the pseudo-rap portions is ingenious and cannot be more apt

Idk what to think about this track. When it started playing I thought it was “Genesis” because it had a 100% identical intro. Idk if she used the same sound clip on purpose or if that’s something she does. This tracks kind of annoying though now that it’s a bit over half way over. The sounds are not very easy on the ears and they’re random as hell. There’s no flow at all to this. She definitely has like 3 songs that are great. This isn’t one of them though. I don’t wanna ever hear it again.
I listened to this song a lot soon after I was raped. Fast forward 4 years, the anger, pain and sadness I channeled whilst listening to this really loud has now translated into a beautiful strength that is completely untouchable. Honestly, when I listen to this now I just feel power and joy knowing that I’ve risen from the ashes. Thanks Grimes and JM - what a track.

That Violin Solo
Genesis was the first video I’d seen from Grimes and it was original and had an interesting aesthetic so when I went looking for more, this was the next one I found and it really hooked me. You can argue that it’s a little artsy and self-indulgent, but it’s okay to be that when it’s done damn well. Plus the actual song has a good beat and sound. I can honestly say I haven’t seen anything so interesting done so well. There are other songs by Grimes I like better (Realiti, World Princess and especially Flesh Without Blood) but this video is her best in my opinion.

This piece of art is a combination of a lot of interesting elements: tribal- sounding drums ( obsessed with the drums) paired with electronic instrumentation and a section which contains a very bittersweet medieval sounding violin. The melody of the pre-chorus sung by yaelle has as well something of powerful traditional tribal singing. Very unique, while grimes sings in sweet pop . The intro is a traditional Russian folk song....All these beautiful elements add up to something uniquely creative and somehow ethereal.

"The outro is a traditional Russian folk song." - what is the name of this song? Also (0:14) 0:30 0:50 - "Ya igrayu na garmoshke" (I play the accordion) Crocodile Gena's birthday song from soviet animation 'Cheburashka'.
