My neighbor bought one of these years ago. It was an absolute nightmare to clean, and she only used it twice before taking it to the thrift store.

Yeah, that's one of the downsides to a lot of these infomercial kitchen gadgets; they're a fucking NIGHTMARE to clean and don't live up to that hype.

This looks better designed overall than a George Foreman grill. Yet that one caught fire and this one disappeared

I can't tell if this is before or after the NuWave and Turbo cooker. He looks younger, but he isn't confused about how to actually cook food.

Not true at all. It might be debatable as to whether not he can cook or just memorized lines, but one thing that's impossible to deny is that Joe Fowler is bringing sexy back.

If I want to grill something I just use the grill in the cooker, also looks like it squashes the food, I like my sausages to stay round thank you!. Also they say it does pressure cooking , that is not achieved by squashing the food between two plates, it actually requires pressure to be built up in the cooking vessel, something this product cannot do. For most foods I reckon it really should be called the "food destroyer express 150".

  • @heiron

They have a thickness regulator shaped like a small cube included so the food will not be too squished for foods that you want to be as thick as possible

Those are crab apple rings. They were used as a “garnish” in food styling in the 60’s and 70’s. They were passé when this would have been made. A lemon wedge and parsley was common too.

@@jw77019 👏 that is totally the correct answer. Thank you so much because we were losing our minds. Oddly enough it doesn't show up when you google "crab apple garnish" (results are only images of apples cut and then configured into the shape of a crab), this particular food only shows up when you google "spiced crab apple rings". Imagining these as being pumpkin spiced really turns my stomach.

@@jw77019 Thank you so much for the information, after seeing these in the infomercial, we were seriously perplexed by what they could be. In fact, the only way to source an answer from Google is to type in "canned spiced apple rings." now we will know if we have a chance to go back in time and sample them.
