Absolutely appreciate the review! Thanks so much for taking the time to go over the ins and outs of this fan favorite! Just wanted to talk about/add a couple things that you had mentioned in the video. 1. Currently the only available options of the Gate-LOK cans are the M4SD-K (5.56), the M4SD-ii (5.56), and the 30SD-K (.30cal). We also offer a Gate-LOK blast shield (9mm aperture) for folks either waiting for their can or folks that can't have cans depending on where they live. And we MIGHT be coming out with a tubeless 5.56 Gate-LOK can...... 2. Unfortunately not all A2 muzzle devices will work as some companies do not abide by the mil spec dimensions or have varying tolerances, but all Griffin Gate-LOK cans ship with a muzzle device. The 5.56 cans come with a 1/2x28 device, the .30 cans come with a 5/8x24 device. If you need others, they can be found on the site. 3. The Gate-LOK system is actually intended to be manipulated with one hand, using the thumb to work the plate forward and the pointer and middle finger to lift the locking gate. However, this does take some practice and can be difficult if the can is still pretty hot. 4. It can be kind of annoying to get the can to sit exactly where it needs to be. The newer .30 cal muzzle devices included with the can have the over travel stop machined into the part. The 5.56 devices historically have not and but have included an over travel stop tab. This is something we're updating for future devices, the over travel stop will be machined into the part itself! Great video, great info! Glad you're enjoying the can!

A tubeless Gate-Lok suppressor sounds great! I really like the Explorr and M4SD variants. A tubeless Gate-Lok design sounds like a blend of both of those. Thanks for sharing!

You guys don't sell the brake/comp that came with the 30SD anymore. Only a single option remains. Hopefully that stays up for sale. I purchased 5 cans from GA in 2016. (M4SDII, 30SD, and 3x Revo's) it took the better part of 18 months to finally get them. By the time I did they were already going obsolete. My instructions indicated to LocTite the collars. (GA has since back peddled on that as it seizes the collars up) That's how long ago I got them! I fear I'll go to get a muzzle device/adapter for a new gun and it'll no longer be available. Kinda sucks that items made to be around for 10+ years get lowered/no support within 6. These items are expensive and take eons to obtain. Maintaining solid support for those of us that dropped thousands of dollars should be somewhat of a priority. I'm really glad I purchased a bunch of adapters for those Revo's because it seems you seldom, if ever, make them anymore. My only disappointment with GA is this abandonment of product support. The cans are fantastic, no doubt. The lack of replacement/new hardware is a real bummer and will for sure be on my mind when I'm deciding on who's silencers I buy in the future.

The M4SD-K is a beast. I love mine. I will concur that not all A2 Flash Hiders are the same. The M4SD-K Gate-Lok doesn't fit all my rifles, but most. The suppressor does come with a Griffin A2, so the ones it doesn't work on you can always replace with the included muzzle device or buy more for like $80 from Griffin.

I’ve had the qd blast deflector (the old one with more of an open “mouth”) for a long time. It works with A2 flash hiders that meet the specs exactly. I had two a2’s (one from windham and one from PSA) that did not work with the gate lok. Daniel defense worked no problem. When i needed another a2 i just went with DD again since they seem to get the spec exactly

All QD suppressors are technically Quick Attach anyway since no one in their right mind is going to touch a piping hot piece of metal after a shooting session. Because of that I personally don’t mind having thread on cans since you are going to have to wait anyway.

I have a 30SDK, awesome can for my ARs, AKs, and larger caliber bolt guns. My main concern when choosing a can was the mounting system, the ability to use an A2 flash hider on firearms I don’t use often is amazing. Having to pop an expensive muzzle device on every firearm I’d like to shoot suppressed would be super annoying. Super happy with it. Only criticism: 1. Griffin no longer offers a muzzle brake for Gate Lok, kind of like MBs on some guns. And the sacrificial baffle idea. 2. The appearance. The dimpled pattern for heat dispersion probably has some functionality. But I much prefer the smooth appearance of a can. At least it sticks out and looks unique I guess!

Griffin gives a flash hider/comp with the purchase of a suppressor. They’re better than an A2 performance wise. But milspec A2 flash hiders do work with the can.

Unfortunately this will not work for it. I had read in a couple forums that it would work for the mod 1, and just got it in after almost a year (thanks atf). It does not fit so I am going to have to get another muzzle device and have it pinned and welded to replace the mod 1. I never found another suppressor that would work for it.

I have both. Im kinda pissed I got two surefires and 7 of their muzzle devices. The griffin has less blow back ( i think its cuz the griffin dumps hella gas out its backside cuz it doesn’t seal as tight around the muzzle device). Also sounds quieter compared to my RC2 on a 16”. Also I am working on a video that shows flash at dusk. My RC2 was flashier.
