Shipping Container Ships pollute MORE than ALL the Worlds' CARS. We can use sailing ships for moving global trade. As it used to be. A FANTASTIC boost to the economy, building sailing ships. And saving so much pollution. More important than everyone stop driving a personal car, although that is important too.

I'm all for reducing carbon footprint, recycling and so on, why don't governments just ban single use plastic? I just think that anyone choosing this path should practice what they preach and lead by example. Stop wearing man made fabric don't buy bottled water, no demand no supply. Stop expecting others to do it for you. What is gretas solution?

unless she sailed on a folkeboat, she's a hypocrite and in it more for the fame and recognition, just like Al Gore and Leonardo Di Caprio in their private jets and massive yachts traveling all over and campaigning to tax fuel for you and me.

Tackling CC is a major world issue but ER are focusing on the wrong targets. Governments (even dictatorships) don't have much power to change underlying habits - sure, they can tax and they can change laws but ultimately the only way people change is by seeing a better example. ER are not providing answers but causing ordinary working people difficulty and actually increasing pollution through congestion on transport networks. In London, ER have forced folk back into cars instead of taking the train. Blocking roads or airports turns the very people who can change habits to ignore or deride all the mostly well meant Placards, Slogans and Tweets. Protest without honest example is empty. Hypocritical action speaks louder than words. Moaning to Govts doesn't change habits for the better. The demonisation of diesel powered vehicles is a classic example of forcing ordinary folk out of perfectly reliable and efficient machines and into more obese, gasoline and "self charging" hybrid ones resulting in a massive increase in CO, CO2, NH3, Ultra Fine PMs and more PM10 from tyres as well as higher running costs. The slight reduction in NOx only lasts for 50k miles before these cars emit more than their diesel brethren. If the 10 million diesel cars in the UK were replaced with petrol ones overnight the UK's CO2 would go up 20% (excluding emissions from wasteful scrappage and much more from building and deilvering new ones). Far better to demand all fuel stations have HVO made from waste not food that works in all diesels to reduce all emissions and improve mpg until we have built a better H2 and EV charging infrastructure. Just a few ideas but, as well as lobbying Govts, ER should be helping communities to insulate their homes, install Solar Thermal and work with car makers to fight vehicle obesity and local councils to improve traffic flow

I don't think ER are saying they have all the answers but they want to start a proper, full and frank - and serious - discussion in society about how we go forward. Many have said that they have done all the usual things for years - signed petitions, written to MPs and so on but their concerns have never been addressed. The actions in London in recent days were not done to annoy Londoners but to draw attention to their cause, which to be honest, has been rather successful. Our local ER group *is* promoting 10 ways in which we can all as individuals reduce our carbon emissions and that's a good start. Of course the elephant in the room which I have not even heard ER protest about (yet) is over population.

Give her a month without food on the table and she will better understand that what she is proposing is in fact a tax on the working classes and the poor. A quick glance to France which has a population that was passionate about climate change, has since changed their minds now they better understand the reality of higher taxes on transport costs, food, housing, and heat for your homes.

All the foods we are eating comes from CO2 in air, without one exception. if this wonderful enigma Greta is calling to combat CO2 emissions, then the first thing she has to do is to stop eating.

I asked myself, how people could alaw guy's like Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao, Kim Yung this and Kim Yung there, to take the lead of a country, the blind adoration, that always end with milions of deads, masacres unbelieveble disasters.... The climat is changing, So what ? What's new under the sun ? Yeah, but we believe... and for that you have... and not by free will, no, by force.... opinions about the future ... dus'nt matter, shut up . Folow the leader. A child this time.

To the channel Guardian Supporters: I got this video and made a subtitled version in Portuguese (from Brazil) to spread Greta's amazing work of raising awareness about climate change and our shared responsibility because in my country we're in a desert of information. But I got censored by you, even though I gave you credit for it and linked to the original piece. My channel is not monetized, I don't do it for money or for anything else than to use the videos for spreading stuff I think it's worthy. I have been doing this lately with Greta's videos - and I will ask to her personal website permission to do so to avoid this type of embarrassment and sad disputes again, so unnecessary and shallow - and intend to do it because journalism has become just business and ego fights - just what you showed in this case - and people have become hostage of the media and of what its owners think we can or cannot do or know. Sad, and I will not ever watch anything from this channel again, even if it's with public sheroes like Greta. By the way, I did the same with videos from The Guardian and others, and until now it has been permitted: to those who understand and don't censor honest, voluntary and free work, thank you.
