Greta had never met Ryan Gosling but both she and Margot knew he WAS their KEN!

Ойын-сауық

It was such a joy to have Greta Gerwig back on Soundtracking for the 3rd time to talk about her incredible vision of Barbie. Originally Greta was only meant to write the film but no one else could have brought her and Noah Baumbach's vision to the big screen. Watch out chat about all things Barbie including the fantastic music from Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.

What I loved the most 🎉 15:19 that everyone involved had genuine fun. Greta gave them the keys to the toy box. Bravo

The thing that I noticed was not only did the average males relate to Ken on a deep level but so did so many females! There is something in our society that so many of us feel we aren’t being seen like Ken wasn’t being seen by Barbie. We aren’t getting the human contact that we did as a society before sort of being “faceless” behind computers and phones. I see high schoolers using dating apps instead of meeting people in person through group activities etc Personally I think this is why this movie was so Huge. It really struck an empty spot in so many people. I hope Greta will realize how powerful this movie really is.

Barbie was such an incredible film ... and couldn't agree with you more, a triumph from Greta, and the cast of Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie really brought those characters to life! Blessed to have this conversation with Greta too! Check out our other interview with Greta on Soundtracking with Edith Bowman Podcast: edithbowman.com/ EPISODES 78 (Lady Bird) + 174 (Little Women)

🩷🌸 Very deep, moving, informative and funny. So profound and yet we never dwelled on the social poignancy. It was about the marvelous creatives and their creations. I enjoyed this so much. Thank you. 🌸🩷

'It was so weird people thinking Ryan Gosling was too old to be Ken. If Barbie is old enough to be president that would mean she is at least 35 and she was always a career woman, so why not have a 40 year old Ken, but Ryan doesn't look 40.
