It sure is! ❤
I saw him right before he died and he fucking killed it. Such a privilege.
Gregg Allman was and still is a treasure.
Greg allman is a fucking legend!
Such a layed back, cool nice guy.. One of the greats of American musicians! Never be forgotten..
Sweet Gregory. A true gentleman!! I miss you Gregory ♥️😥
Love his storytelling. What a legend.
A great gift from a Spanish speaking grandma. Gracias senora!!!!! 👍🙏
Great Story....my daughter is named Melissa and she will dig this too! Cheers From Ohio Everyone
For a clip that's 1:55 long, that's a great story.
I would listen to the Allman brothers for the drumming alone. Throw in dickey Betts on guitar and Gregg's voice - one of my all time favorite bands. And I love hearing him talk. He used to live near my aunt when he was married to Cher.
Midnight rider…My fav.

Mine, too.
love the southern southern phrases Gregg so naturally drops. Gary can have Springsteen, Howard can have Maroon 5. I choose the Allmans.
Founders and legendary badass beginners of southern rock ty Brothers and thank God for giving us Gregg and the boys
My wife is one of the many people named Melissa after this song and she is sweet.
We miss you Gregg 💜
Beautiful soul 🌹❤️❤️❤️
The Allman Bos were from Sarasota FL and called their high school band the Allman Joys

Classic...what a voice. I saw him (after Duane) on New Years at the Warfield in San Francisco...unbelievably good!
That was a sweet story.
My wife’s name is Melissa and she is pretty darn sweet I gotta say.

Yep.
And this is why I'll ALWAYS LOVE Howard. He's AWESOME at what he does. I stopped following the show when he moved to Sirius Satellite but I'll ALWAYS be a fan. Even though I COMPLETELY DISAGREE w/HIS POLITICS TODAY.. Lol!
Man's man
Stern is the best
Love how folksy and down to earth GA was
One doesn’t experience self-transcendence, the illusion of self only dissipates 🎈

He sounds so frail here. Makes me sad. So wish he could have been forever young. You can't get much better than the The Allman Bros. Band, that's for sure. Greg and that band will be missed but Thank the Lord we'll always have their amazing music!
I always loved this song but had no idea it was a fictional girl. If I ever had a daughter, yup, Melissa.

I've always liked the name. 🙂💙
So, if you were born in about 1962-65, in Daytona, Fl, and you have a Hispanic grandma, and your name is Melissa, you're the girl!!
Stern should have known the name of the song. It’s ’Melissa’ not ‘Sweet Melissa’.
It was meant to be. I love that song. I would have bet money it was about a real woman
a legend-flaw and all....thanks Howard and Robin!
