It started as a good interview until CR began asking insulting questions and GK had to open that hole in her face. I don’t know much about professional journalism, but I would think the first thing you should know is polite etiquette and what crosses the boundaries of good taste. Undeniable props to Gregg for chuckling and keeping his composure.

I have always gotten the feeling from him since reading that autobiography and reading more about him that there is a lot of childhood pain that he either needed to address or had because he mentioned once that he had a therapist but he didn’t want to talk about it. He always insists that it’s the happy times that he remembers but he suggests otherwise in his book. He had a lot of death in his family. He’s quick to say that he doesn’t remember his father who died when he was two but when a child gets older they know that their father died a violent death. They also don’t have a mind that has developed perspective and often feel that the parent left because they were somehow unworthy. Then his brother died when they were both still quite young and had just hit it big. He’s hard to interview I find because he doesn’t want to talk about the pain and yet his book suggests that he did. Cher did say that getting words out of Gregg was like ….. “forget it”.

The wives question was awkward for sure but a fact that is hard to close your eyes on when you want to judge the character of a man who just wrote a book about his life. Great talent, great charisma. He was gentle and soft spoken...definitely a legend but I wouldn't call a guy a Gentleman, he who has 7 wives (2 extra-marital kids with other women, 3 kids with 3 different wives), is an alcoholic, does cocaine, heroin, gets a 16 yo stranded girl into it (he was 40), who 2 years later turned to porn to pay for her addiction when he let her down and out (commits suicide some years later). Then at 64, marries a 24 yo girl, who is much younger then any of his kids (let that sink in). I just don't think ''gentleman'' is a word that should be used when referring to Gregg Allman. Of course being a rock legend gives you a free pass to doing all this and still be loved by all. Goes for countless others as well. At least he was honest about it. Enjoy the music!

I think Gregg use to bum cigarettes off me in the men's room at the local movie theater when he was in military school. I was only 8 or 9 but we would sneak in to smoke.

Gayle is the KING of the hypocritical self-serving nonsense which deserves no audience. Here, is a gentle man, putting his heart out there, and telling people about his pain, in the hope of helping others. And, this snotty woman tries to rub his nose in "it". She is judgmental, condescending, rottenly above-it-all, and, has zero empathy for the experience she hasn't had.. . . yet.

All the reasons you dislike Gayle King are the exact reasons that Oprah loves her. Oprah and Gayle judge us ALL in snotty condescension. They are the queens of the world.

Gayle King, Shut up Already !! Oprah bought you your way in and gave you money. Gregg has made his own money and can do as he wishes. I wanted Gregg to tell her off but he is too much of a Gentlemen for that. But the looks he gave Gayle said it all. R.I.P. Gregg, we love you.

Its appalling the lack of show prep & research the MSM didnt do to interview this great man. In this & the Kathy Lee & Regis Interviews its glaringly obvious these idiots didn't have a clue whose presence they were in. Duh which sock do you put on first, left or right?

Gregg Allman will leave behid him a Massive Legacy of music that inspired and hit the hearts of millions of people. You vicious pieces of crap who tried to bring him down, will leave nothing memorable behind you because you created nothing, produced nothing, and lived on negativity.

Yikes, why did they focus on his health so? are these two doctors, they made it sound like GA was finished, that was the worst interview I have ever seen given to Greg in 40 years of following him closely, way to personal! He was actually very politie throughout.

I think Gayle King is a great interviewer. She's not saying anything wrong. She read his book and ask's questions. Gregg is handling that quite well. I read his book twice. Great read both times. I liked it. I found Gregg to be a straight shooter. He calls it like he sees it. Great read. I commented on his book once. Several years ago. He replied. Sent me an email. Wish I would have printed that. Stupid! stupid! stupid!. Loved his read.
