Great info as always. Don’t be so hard on yourself about the black oak. Black oaks here in Missouri have been dying off rather quickly for various reasons over the last few years, and you might not have caused it.
Wonderful advice. Thanks for posting.
Great video Greg! Thank you 🙏🏻 for this one! Great focus point.
Great information !! Thank you teacher !😀👍
legit i learn very much from you, thank you.
That hickory tree is a beaut. We hope it won't be hurt. Are you thinking about raking off the surface soil a bit just to clear off some of the manure? It would be worth a lot as boards if, next year, you decide it won't make it. I'm surprised they all bunched up there for 6 hours.

he should spread it out before the next rain

It has already recovered, grass is growing where there was mud. Time, it is a huge factor. They were only there for 6 hours. Plus the area under the tree was beautiful forage before they go there and grouped up under it.
Wow didn't realize how quickly that could happen. Thank You
These things won't happen in a silvopasture or an orchard, would it. It's happening because the tree is alone and every cow is getting under it.
Beautiful tree
Would've liked to have you SHOW us how to fence that tree!
"It took a hundred years to grow and you [hypothetically] kill it in 2 days." trees are great providers but they do demand respect to live their life well to do so! براہمداغ made a good point maybe more trees there as silvopasture would buffer the impact on each of the trees? Establishing trees among lifestock takes some time (and fencing) though, would love to hear more of your thoughts about that Greg.
I wonder if you pruned the tree up the shade wouldn't be concentrated directly under the tree. I know in our feedlot the taller the shades the better because the shades area moves more
I guess this proves cows really do like that Savannah niche XD.
So Greg, I have a few acres of 10 year old cut over that has grown back to pole stage. Would mobbing cattle up like this be an effective way to kill those small trees and let sunlight get to the ground to grow forage?
Is this Greg Judy or Woody Harrelson narrating? Good information as always.
How far out do you put the wire from the tree? Like around the drip line?

At the edge of the dripline.
Good info. How far away from the trunk of the tree do you run your wire?
