Oh my goodness my world stopped when I saw this. How did I not know there was something with both of these masters.
The two Jedi Masters of Regenerative Agriculture in one place. Boss!

Ya, I’d like people to see more livestock alongside grain farming performed with regenerative practices. We have been on that journey for 20 years, long before their was KZread. My research and knowledge was done at good old fashioned public libraries. It hit me square between the eyes all the back in the mid 80’s, but never hit any big scale until 2001.

My thoughts exactly!
Two of my favorite grass farmers together in one place!
I went to Greg's May workshop at his ranch, and I cannot put into words the impact walking his pastures and among his cattle had on me.
Two masters at their craft having a great conversation. Thank you for the video.
JOEL AND GREG IN THE SAME VIDEOO??!!!!! MY HEAD IS GONNA EXPLODEEE
It's hard to believe Joel's neighbors haven't joined with him in this great enterprise. Just his enthusiasm would be irresistible, seems to me.

100% guess. The others see lots of activities going on and would rather not extend themselves. Even though these two Gentlemen can command premium prices their neighbors don't want to be bothered. Have a great day.

People's pride sometimes. I have a beautiful lawn my neighbor wants the same but has no interest in what a have to say. He's a great guy but I think it's pride.
Enjoyed the conference VERY MUCH! Glad some are too lol stubborn to quit. Very rewarding! All the speakers had a lot of great things to say. Thank you all!
as a young farmer, these are two of my heroes i hope to one day meet in person and thank for how much they have helped me step up my game on our farm

Thanks for sharing, share more of your off the farm travels, please.
2 great soil activists!
Good to see you two together. Those of us that don’t live east of the Rocky mountains or the Mississippi river are jealous of the green grass. ☺️

Don't dismiss the experience behind making a task look easy! Well said Joel. I always say, if a day goes by where you haven't learnt anything on the farm, your eyes weren't open!
Just about every single waste byproduct is put to use and at the same time enriching the ecosystem.
the lack of shade has been the only thing stopping me, Thank you Joel!!!! look out here I come!!!!!
MAN ! Two giants on who's shoulders my son and I are working on standing. What an awesome thing to listen to masters of their craft.
I'm glad you mentioned his neighbors not doing it. I am in central VA on a regular basis and while driving down the road constantly shake my head like "Don't they know about their neighbor right down the road? Why are they still doing things this way?"
Amazing people, both of you guys, absolutely fantastic this interview with Joel salatin!
Two of my favorite teachers! Blessings to you both!!
Steers looked great
It's amazing to see such lush green grass at this time of the year.

So cool! Two incredible cattlemen chewing the cud! Ben, Issac and Connor eat your hearts out 😊👍❤️ Absolutely amazing pasture quality. OMG WOW 😃. Wish I was there! Have to set the date to visit Polyface. Would like to visit Green Pastures as well. Love that Joel and Stockman Grass-Farmer decided to do the conference on the farm. What a beautiful place to have a conference. I can’t believe good conventional farming folks can see that this is the way. Glad we have the two of you staying in the game of demonstrating what is possible when we farm along side nature. So incredibly grateful for you and all the other wonderful people in this movement. Look forward to joining this community in earnest early next year. Currently working out a lease on a farm outside Munich Germany. 🙏❤️

You always have Brown’s Ranch near by you to visit. Gabe Brown is part of this elite group of regenerative farmers. Well know and respect around the world. He travels the world by request to spread the principles and practical application of regenerative farming using the experiences he’s had on his own operation and those of other prominent folks in the community. An incredible pioneer in this space who continues to evolve after 3 decades on his farm. Another incredible man with an amazing family. I’m pretty sure they have an open farm policy. Check them out.
Great stuff Greg! Joel is a wonderful human, like yourself! Great to see you guys collaborate, there was a nice vibe between you both… Thank you! Have a wonderful weekend 😊🌱💚🙏✨☘️
you guys are an inspiration. have learned generations worth of wisdom from both of you. hope to cross paths some day so we can thank each of you personally.
Wow! 2 legends at work. These men have given so much value to the farming community. Thank you for sharing! Maybe one day we could get you guys out on the bison ranch 😅

You may want to check with the Stockman Grassfarmer first. I know they taped it and are selling it on their website. They paid for the whole conference to happen.
Great video hope you had a great time !
For the sake of those who may not know, two other names to learn from include Gabe Brown and Ian Mitchell-Innes; if you're a Greg Judy fan you've head the latter. You can find some talks of these two guys, just wanted to throw it out there since they're not as well-know but might help someone.

I was first introduced to Joel's Pastured Poultry Profits, next came Gabe Brown's Dirt to Soil, then Greg's 3 books. Lots of folks they mention, interview, or who interview them will introduce you to many others! Will Harris, Ray Archuleta, Allen Williams, Teddy Gentry, Steve Kenyon, Richard Perkins, Billy Bond, Allen Savory. Depending on animals that will use your resources best, you will find other people to challenge your preconceived notions.
Nice interview. Thanks
Like my dad always says ... when your good at it you make it LOOK easy
Two of my favorites.
Two Jedi Masters!
Oh this is awesome
Two legends
My two stars in the same video, thank you. with kind regards Torben Gram from Denmark
This video belongs in the National Archives, Library of Congress, the Smithsonian or something. Our posterity must know these two men.
You both are amazing.
What a treat! Thank you, Messrs Salatin and Judy.
Wish I was there. ❤️🌱
Interesting thing is they do some things very differently, would love to hear the debate/conversation about them. Greg does not bother with chickens, not worth it? Joel keeps livestock in barn in winter Greg does not .... bet there are more subtle things but all Interesting. Always learning something new watching these gentlemen.

Joel has a much different market, chicken/ eggs are gold . Pork same thing. Joel feeds hay to make compost pretty cool system.

Greg has mentioned chickens in the past. If I'm able to summarize, long story short: he's built his system largely around those minimal 1-2 wire fences; the nets don't fit well with his approach. (similar issue with goats) Although Salatin uses barns, I believe he uses them much much differently than the way most people use them. So I don't think it'd be so much of a debate as it would be a discussion of lifestyle choices. But it is interesting, as you say. Nice observation. It's great how there can be such diversity of approach even in what many would consider a narrow field.

It’s nice to see the two approaches. Both operations are very Eco friendly. Joel’s depth of knowledge about integrated natural systems on the farm and the value of life on and in the farm community is incredible. If you haven’t read any of his books you may just love them. I do! A real treat! Both men are gems in their own right worthy of great praise.

@@tedbastwock3810 Good observations Ted. If I'd hazard a guess, I'd suggest the different perspectives come from how I understand they entered agriculture. Joel on the owned family farm - where investment on some more expensive fences and other infrastructure to support a variety of animal types can make a bit more sense. Greg by leasing pastures, where you want to invest the minimum on permanent fencing or other infrastructure to support grain fed animals. Both offer great perspectives, and we all should be so grateful around their willingness to make their wisdom so available to us.
thanks for the encouragement guys.
These two men have changed farming for the better and has a bright future because of them!
Beautiful farm and cattle!
Thank you!
I hope you enjoy your time. I bet it was awesome!
Legends.
Fantastic!!
Two legends....
Excellent video Greg Judy , It is in farm
1) imagine the fun of sitting at wise men's feet like this & soaking up their wisdom! Id love to just be a little ant listening to these two men just chat. 2) imagine living next door to joel salatin & ignoring how prosperous he is & choosing to do it like the poor guy on the other side who is struggling....🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Mobile shade units. Bloody brilliant
Oh my word....thank you for this interview....his pasture and cows look as good as yours, and that's saying a lot!
two thumbs up!

Would like to see these Shade Wagons. I'm afraid the wind would blow them over! We do get some gusty wind storms in ID. Thank you for the great info.
I'm loving it!!👑👑♥♥
So much information! Thank you! I have no land but am in the planning stages to start small, and I have been trying to prepare myself for farmers to tell me I'm crazy. This will help me persevere, down here in MS I'm not sure if anyone is doing regenerative farming. All the pasture I see is grazed almost year round. I know people are going to tell me rotation is unnecessary.
Greatest crossover of all time
I would love to hear more about what he has to say. That 9 minutes in change of that video was awsome.
Mutual admiration society in action! I watched an earlier episode of Justin Rhodes and Joel was citing the things you do that would be a benefit to people who want to homestead in his presentation on the nine pitfalls to avoid. I have Mr Rhodes to thank for getting me interested in farming . It’s hard to believe that your neighbours have difficulty seeing the light. None so blind as those who work hard to make a living and not to make a better world. I enjoyed watching this video glad to see the rain start and resigned to see the video end but tomorrow is another day to anticipate more greatness I think I will move on to Stephans orchard I likely spelt his name incorrectly oh well.👍👍👍👍🖖🖖🖖🖖🌟💝🌟🍀☘️🍀🙋🏼♀️♥️

I wonder if Joel got the idea to rent farms from his knowledge of Greg's work? That'd be interesting to know, speaking of mutual admiration. Was also neat to hear that Greg visited Joel's farm 15 years ago, I'm sure that was a factor in Greg's success (not that he wasn't going to succeed considering his smarts + hard work :- )
Wow the way to go guys their is hope for the American 🇺🇸 farmers yet.
The ultimate crossover event.
I would love be there and hear the to of you talk about what you do and how you do it

yes things happen I remember my dad was doing this kind of grazing and it was nobodys fault that cuttworms killed a 1/4 section of fescue pasture. Going against all the principles of regenerative grazing he was also a stockman farmer subscriber he had no other choice but to spend money and time and rip that field up with a cultivator and start from scratch.
HELLO!!!
