He’s Rusty on the soundtrack to the New Starlight Express London Cast ‘93. I’ve had the album 30 years almost haha. His voice is amazing

Such a difficult sequence to get right. Emotion has to be spot on. Greg Ellis and Ray Shell both nailed it

Ray Shell is amazing as Poppa & Rusty but Greg does this song better breaks me down to tears every time

Yes.... Ray was the original Rusty..... Greg has the most beautiful voice though.... Used to make me cry...

Awwwww, it seems so strange to hear my darling Ray singing Poppa instead of Rusty. He sounds as good as ever.

To think this guy voiced Rocket Raccoon in Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! I had NO idea Greg Ellis could sing so amazingly! He's truly an incredible actor! XD

@lordcuterbeckett100 haha me too about beckett. but there were definate tears when james died. there was one tear when groves died. i was with my friend when i saw it and she turned to me after that scene and she saw that i was crying and she was like "wtf" and i was like "oh come on! it was a sad scene. dont blame me!"

@lordcuterbeckett100 groves (greg ellis) is really handsome. i always thought he was but i didnt pay too much attention until the 4th movie when u actually saw him a lot more. i will always love norrington first though. beckett is ok. i have some "stirrings" here and there but its very rare. omg it rhymes!!!! LONG LIVE THE COMMODORE!

yes. Ray originated the role in 1984 & then went back into it around 2000 I thin,as Poppa. Greg was in the old version as Bobo the french train,then Electra, then he got cast as Rusty when Andrew Lloyd Webber rewrote the show in 92 and relaunched it as the New Starlight Express.

@lordcuterbeckett100 barbossa did die but thankfully he was brought back by calypso. have u realized that we have basically taken over this whole page with comments? lets keep going! i was like out of my seat when james kissed elizabeth because i knew that he would die. i was like "NO!" at least Groves wasnt kissed. they ended it so quickly but at least i think he died valiantly. poor gillette. he was just in the background when he died. :( so sad. the last 2 movies were so sad
