I got Greg in Anthrax. I knew him, he was my friend, and I told Scott about him mainly because he had an AMAZING huge drum set that was so damn impressive, I thought it would make Anthrax look more professional on stage. I brought Scott and the guys to Greg's house in Douglaston Queens, NY, and that's where he Greg and Scott met. That's where Greg's music career started.

Have you given ANY THOUGHT AT ALL to the crazy ramps and stupid, but very silent speed bumps, of other great bands like WASP, TWISTED SISTER, MEGADETH, IRON MAIDEN, STRYPER or JUDAS PRIEST? White Lion WAS NOT THE ONLY HEART IN THE HOUSE! They had talented music that was fun and loving, yet a burden on a bandmembers shoulders was present inside the practice of pretty much EVERY BAND! Mike Tramp is WAY overrated, basically just a pretty boy. Vito on the w other hand was a god.
I've posted many Vito solo covers here on YT with over 200k views. People really miss Vito!! I contacted Tramp a couple years ago and sent him my videos asking him if he needed a guitarist for WL reunion. Here's his reply: "Brother keep doing what you're do and just enjoy. I am doing something completely different today and got it under control. Vito would be very proud if he saw this." Mike

@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen Sounds like Vito can't play like he used to... but Glenn Tipton can't either but that doesn't stop Judas Priest. I'm just saying White Lion can make a reunion work if they hire a guitarist to play along side Vito and play parts that he can't. Because people just want to see them on stage again. Works for Priest. 😆

I was/am the same way. I have three older siblings that helped familiarize me with '80s rock bands, which I loved at the time. When Pearl Jam and Nirvana exploded, I was in 5th grade, and though I don't dislike these bands or their first albums, it was bands that my three older siblings turned me on to that made me fall in love with rock music. Pride by White Lion and New Jersey by Bon Jovi are a couple of the first music purchases. Magical stuff from an equally significant era in music.

Hey man Lights and Thunder.
Vitto had the most melodic and tasteful solos I've ever heard. Just jaw dropping beautiful, and technically tight as hell. What a genius. Such an understanding of peicing together melodies and notes that melt as fluid together gorgeously...what an artist. Surprisingly, alot of geniuses sometime shy away from the spotlight...he deserves this recognition. The solo of "wait" is pure genius... The lady of the valley is phenomenal. Little fighter is awesome too. But I've never heard a more beautiful song than "When the children cry." His solos just sing incredibly by themselves but fit in so effortlessly snug into each song. A rare Artist indeed. The real kind...

Great interview! I always wondered what happened to Greg. Of all the bands that should get back together its them. Hats off to Vito for doing whats important. That band started it all for me. In Rock and being a guitar player. I wanted to be Vito. I cheered them loud and proud no matter what people said when Alternative music arrived. Sad that the typical record company corperate bull used them up and threw them to the side. Hope some in some way they can play together again.
As a White Lion fan, had to watch this and really enjoyed it. I think an earlier comment alluded to it, and of course I know the return of the band on stage is unlikely, but why not do what the cast of 'Friends' have just done. Get the guys together in the same room for video interviews Q&A, reminiscing, possibly even a bit of a jam together. I’d be happy to see that. A reunion doesn't have to be a tour. Great interview w/Greg D., dynamic drummer! As a guitarist myself, I've always been entranced by melodic playing & musicianship. Being 62 years old, the cats that make me shake my head & feel totally inadequate are Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, EVH, Jake E Lee, Rhodes, & (yep) Vito Brittany. Vito took Eddie's tapping to another dimension. Plus his classical insertions & pinch harmonics were never overstated. When you're that GOOD & suffer a tendon/ligament injury that limits your playing ability, of course you wouldn't want to reappear & be a former shell of yourself. GOD works miracles & we can only hope that we'll see Vito playing again.

Good interview! I was always pissed at Vito for not making an instrumental album and he's taught me to not be so technical with the guitar and I saw them in concert.... Oh by the way I'm black... as if it matters. My favorite guitarist are Jake E Lee, Vito Bratta, George Lynch, and of course Eddie - taught me to have fun. If you want to go old school... Hendrix, Page, Rhodes, Vaughn. Last but not least... Malmsteen because I started out classical.
Jason-Tremendous. I could not stop listening from beginning to end. About time Greg was given a chance to talk about his playing with WL. Those 4 made great music and they are a band I still enjoy just as much today vs back in 87-91. The "rumors" about Vito should just be left alone. Leave Vito alone. If and when he wants to return again in some form is up to him and nobody else. You have to respect why he left his guitar behind and what he's done in his life without the, "fortune and fame". Of course I would love to hear him play, love to hear him being interviewed but he has other priorities and good for him. White Lion music is very underrated. The best part of this interview was when Greg spoke somewhat about why he left the band after that tour of Europe-I think Jason did a great job filling in the blanks to that story. Thank you!

A History degree ... I knew I liked this guy! 👍
WOW, Extreme, Mr Big, and White Lion. what a time to live. WL was the perfect match.
"Scott was the only one that stuck with it" to be fair Turbnin kicked out Lickler and then They kicked Turbin out
For money, fans or fun white lion should do at least one more show.
When I was young in the 80s I thought all the bands were from California!

I kinda thought that too and it was mostly true --- all those hair metal bands originated on the Sunset Strip
Don’t get the hate for big game...it’s my favorite of theirs.
