Hey Patrick. I really like my little cultivator. It's perfect for those raised beds. I've also used it a little in some virgin soil and it was slower to break it up, but it got the job done. I also have the trimmer that will accommodate attachments and I have the edger attachment. And, the brushless chainsaw, blower, and pole saw. They are all really handy and good quality. If you are looking at the chainsaws, I highly recommend spending some extra and getting the 16" brushless over the lesser expensive 12" brushed. The 12" is kinda wimpy. Thanks for watching.

@@JeromeBeeFarm I actually just bought it before watching the video. I had it in my cart for about a year and it recently dropped by 50% in price. I already have 2 x 6A batteries, so it's a very little investment.

Great work buddy having used gas tiller for longtime, this video got me interested in goelectric. One suggestion... The till works the best when you pul it reverse... Two benefits, you wiill not be compacting the earth you have worked on and second it digs in easier. Would have loved to see it working on normal compacted soil. Will wait for your next review... Kudos for the good work and kelp sharing

Yeah, I really like mine. I've used it two years in a row now for those beds. It does a great job. I busted up some virgin ground that was pretty hard and it's kinda slow for that, but I don't think it's really designed to do that type of work. I also have the 16" chainsaw and attachment capable string trimmer and the edger tool, and the pole saw for trees. I really like all the greenworks stuff. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have a 1976 Husquvarna 4.5 HP petrol ride on which I replaced with a Von Hauss electric cable as the petrol was too powerful for my dad to use these machines dig down deep and are stopped by the plate, the best technique is to start them forward of where you want to cultivate and then pull back, I noticed yours doesn't do this but tills the surface. A feature on the petrol is that it has plough blades and a gearing lever to slow it down and increase the torque of the gearing, this is something I cant find on modern machines. I just realised I wrote the petrol was a ride on, it isn't the lawnmower is a ride on

Hi Ruthie. Thanks for stopping in. I sure do like it. So far anyway. I won't have a need to use it very often, maybe twice a year. If you let gasoline ones sit, the carburetors will clog up if you dont' drain the gas or treat the gas with Stabil. I got this brand because of the battery. I wanted to get tools that used all the same battery. I have some Dewalt stuff too, but Dewalt doesn't have as many yard type tools. I also have the pole saw, their cheap chainsaw, and the string trimmer and edger attachment. Thanks for watching and commenting.

It needs a drag foot/depth control to the tiller back and the wheels to be movable to raise out of the way like a normal tiller so you don't have to fight it. Looks good for a previously tilled plot. I have my grandads tiller made back in 60s that is still going strong with the original engine.

Tips I've used to get better performance out of lightweight cordless cultivators. I don't install the wheels. That way I can cultivate deeper. I also use a 2ft forward/2ft backward motion as I work through raised beds. I also filled a small burlap bag with 5lb sand and place on the cultivator at/near tines to put a little extra weight on the tines. That way the machine does it's job without me having to fight the "bouncing" that ALL cultivators do with the wheels attached and no added weight. And I keep a little silicone lubricant on battery slide in/out rails for all my yard equipment. I don't expect these little cultivators to do much more than turn the soil, incorporate manure/amendments. I started with an 8" MTD (CubCadet/TroyBilt) cultivator that I used on all raised beds, inground flower beds and deweeding around shrubs before laying down mulch. That machine is still going great but because mfrs frequently change their cordless platforms, I can no longer find batteries so I had to replace with this unit.

Hi Tulips. Those are some excellent tips. It does tend to bounce a little. I didn't use it much this year to save my worm population. I used a shallow spade and rotate and worked in some cow manure. I had the best carrot harvest of my lifetime. Getting those greenworks batteries out of ANY tool/and/or the charger is a PITA. I'm going to give them all a shot of silicon - excellent idea. Greenworks or Worx is good stuff. i like em > Just as good as Dewalt and much much cheaper> Any thing you plow in front is hard work I love Kubota and there rototiller behind the tractor there THE BEST EVER it will rototill the soil to a powder > i call the small rototillers Grass Hoppers he hee Doing a good job> kept up the reviews Cheers

It works pretty good. If you already have greenworks stuff and the battery, it's a great deal. I think it will outlast the 2 stroke equivalents, and start every time. lol

Yep it did work good, Surprise me . why i like cord he hee plug in and go. battery packs are cool . if they just get them to last. there not cheap / 2 yrs later they change them up and want fit> I threw away countless number of battery pack, hand drills he hee from Harbor Freight

Hi, and thanks for the video. I just bought a Greenworks all electric (no battery), but I have rougher soil, some of it unworked. It did a pretty good job on unworked sod (on the moist side after several days of rain), but the problems really happened when the tines hit some larger rocks. After a while, it started making awful loud sounds, so we stopped the engine to check. The tines got bent, and we are now trying to figure out a way to fix the tines (unbend them). Any ideas? We were loving this machine until it happened. I can't find a video on how to bend cultivator/tiller tines back to shape. Thanks, anyone, for help with this problem.

You can remove them and you can also buy new ones. I'd take them off and put it in a vise and try a very large crescent wrench, or a hammer. If not, replace the blades.

I’ve never ran one similar to this one on petrol, but I can say it’s not loud at all.

loosen a few screws just below the battery door hinge and it no longer binds the battery when released.

YEP the higher set the wheels deeper it will go > On grass hoppers i just take the wheels off he he let them cost on the fenders, Pick it up walk back or dig around and back and forth> some times have to jump it up to move

I can't let it go too deep. I have hardware cloth in the bottom of those beds to keep out the gophers.

No, there's no need. The tines are below wheel level.

Yes I do. It's good for breaking up the raised bed and getting it ready for planting. If you have virgin ground with grass, it's not so great.

Well, around here I have red sandy clay dirt. The good soil is in those raised beds, and I purchased it. lol I've been composting for 5 years now and yet to make any soil out of the devil dirt.

Get the electric for 75 dollars at home depot! he hee all is needed is extension cords and electricity lmao and it 11 inches wide can buy 2 for the price of one> Really Electric is the only way to go! I like cords! They just don't make enough power in the battery packs! and Fiddly charging ect Your happy makes me happy for ya> Its cords for me! Off grid i use a small 1500 watt generator for camping, boat, van! So it don't just set around, its used
