So glad you recorded this video and I appreciate the honesty. It doesn't have the same finish as a professional manicure and I was hoping to buy it as a cheaper alternative. But I think I will skip on this. Thanks for saving me money lol

I got the kit a few weeks ago, and my first set lasted about nine days before chipping on the free edge of two of my nails. I'm using the color Hortencia. But the polish held up really well for me - even after an outdoor climbing session on limestone, which is basically like pulling on knives and needles. I did three coats of the color instead of two, curing an extra time on the "base" setting before doing one layer of top coat and curing twice using the "top" setting on my lamp. I also capped my free edges with each coat. Hope that helps!

Yeah I think it’s the not being able to cap the edge of my nails that’s the main issue…. X

Used this. Daughter applied it and she is a professional and it was amazing and lasted 3 weeks. She recommended for me as I have been suffering bad nail health. On removal found nails to look healthy. So I have just tried to apply myself and it was tricky. Going to requires practice I think BUT going to stay with it as mail health is important to me.

My friend wanted this for Christmas, I got it for her and she said all the nails peeled off the moment she was done curing them! She has now given me back the kit to try myself, but I barely have time to do regular nail polish much less gel! 🙃

Additionally, I tried two top coats and it worked great and added protection. I also noticed you don’t have that metal part at the bottom of the LED Light and that will affect your drying time, because you shouldn’t have to dry it that much.

@@heatherkerenza yea it came with one. I would take a look at the videos Manucurist posts with the lamp, they also have a metal plate on the bottom of it. Hopes this helps

I am wondering if a stronger lamp would help?? Seems like it is not curing enough. Just a thought. I have given up on gel even though I love the thick sturdiness of it, I personally do not do a great job in the removal and my nails are suffering hahaha. I have started using Dazzle Dry Nail polish. It last me a little over a week, by then I am ready to change the color lol.

Yes, I'm thinking the same... the frustrating thing is that this is the lamp that green flash sell as the best one to use with their kit x

I just used this (hadn’t done any research… thought it would be more like gel though which I love). I hate it, it dries strange, it’s chipped already and I’ve done nothing but put on my pajamas. Regular gel polish (madam glam is a great brand) isn’t too bad to remove if you do it carefully and I’d rather deal with that every 2 weeks than deal with this, will be returning it.

Yeah that's basically been my exact experience with it, just such a shame because they promise so much! x

I think it’s one minute for each and the last coat is 2 minutes. That’s what my instructions say. And it has cured just fine. Also when you are done curing the last coat, put oil on your cuticles and it will completely dry right away. Hopefully that helps with your drying issues.

The Manicurist LED lamp does emit UV as well

I bought the kit, starting to regret and it's not even here yet. I've tried mini macaron and that one isn't bad. It holds for at least a week and the LED is super compact. Overall not bad at all. The only downside is the smell.. horrible glue smell and it makes me dizzy, I have to do them outside or when I open my windows. I was hoping that manicurist green flash would be better but now if this doesn't hold, don't know what to get :(. What is the smell of the polish like? Thank you for the honest review.

Definitely still give it a try as some people seem to have a lot of success with it but that’s also why I wanted to honestly talk about my experience with it… x

Do you know if you can apply nail hardener or ridge filler before base coat? Thx

I’m afraid I don’t… with gel sometimes it doesn’t adhere so well with something underneath it but I haven’t tried a ridge filler under green flash x

Try bright colors like blue or peonies, the result is completely different, the same thing happened to me with white mattes.

Ah fair enough! I think the main issue is the lamp... I had no idea it was supposed to come with a mirrored base so I'm going to buy a different LED lamp and try again...

It’s definitely different than regular gel polish, but the removal process is the trade-off. I have had a lot of success with this. Maybe watch The Salon Life’s videos on it. Her commentary is helpful. I would classify this somewhere between regular polish and gel. But I think knowing the removal is so much easier is worth the decreased longevity (my last manicure lasted over 10 with only minimal chipping along the edges). I think there are many variables to consider (did you remove oils, are your nails natural oily, are you exposing your hands to a lot of moisture, etc). Also, I saw in another comment that you were discussing the metal plate. Mine came with a metal plate, as well. I am also advised to cure base and color for 1 min and top for 2 min, so I don’t think you have the more powerful version of the lamp.

Yes I think you’re spot on with it being in between the two kinds of polish. I definitely ordered their more powerful lamp so I’m going to get in touch and see what happened! X

I bought a kit as well and I wanted to like it but it did the same thing to me, the very next day I had two chips and I did nothing strenuous with my nails. Also, my nails are weak and I found with this gel kit my nails didn't feel as strong as they normally do when I do regular gel manicure. Thank you for your honest review. It does come off easily but it doesn't last. This gel manicurist didn't work for me and I would not recommend it.

Honestly I was so sad… it sounded so great but I just felt ripped off x

I also bought this and it's so crap, chipped within 24h, I've complained to their customer service and they just don't care. It's clearly false advertising.

Ah, I'm so sorry to hear that! Yes I hate to really lay into them but I've tried it several times now, sometimes following their instructions to the letter and then other times curing it for longer, etc and it never seems to work well. x
