    It was Nick Bosa who blew the game on defense, Rich. He kept darting to the RB in OT and the Chiefs just moseyed around him.

    Bosa charged inside a lot enabling a couple of Mahomes runs and the game winning touchdown in overtime. He never even tried to seal the corner, just bullrush inside. Reid dialed up plays to beat him. Corndoged him.

    Spags has four rings as a DC. I think Purdy is good, but he is young and Spags has confused QB's with far more experience

    Agree with you on Spags but I would argue Purdy was showing pretty impressive composure on that stage for most of the game for his age and experience. I would put the loss more on Shanahan and just some bounces not going their way (Greenlaw injury, punt that went off a guy's heel etc..).

    I’m very confused by 7:45. There was no double overtime..right? Also, what was Rich talking about the field flipping if they didn’t end on that play? Is he saying it was a given that Brock and the 49ers were going to march down the field ?

    I haven’t watched fully yet but I know since the rule change of the clock in OT hits 0:00, it would have gone to double OT bc it was still the Chief’s “1st” possession and they are entitled to finish their drive (it was a 1st and goal TD at about 3s, so they would have had to go to the opposite side of the field like normal change of quarters if they didn’t get it). Hope that might clear anything up, only recently learned this and am all ears for new insights of the rules

    The field would have flipped because it would have changed sides for the quarter change. So the touchdown would have been scored in the other end zone if clock had hit 0 before it

  • @davis267

    @davis267

    The Niners were up 3 but the new rules allow the other team to have a possession, so that clock becomes meaningless. It would be treated as end of the first quarter, hence Chiefs would have had 2nd and goal at the other end of the field

    There is stuff you can say to your family that you can't say to Lombardi or Putin. It's not the military anymore. Remember the Ted Lasso scene where Obisanya realizes he made a mistake yelling at Ted and afterwards he says to Ted, "I'm going to have to run extra after practice, aren't I?" -and Ted says, "definitely."
