    This new residential neighbourhood is missing outdoor amenities like tennis/basketball courts, or a football pitch. Additionally, low lying brush is much more abundant in tropical areas and it would be cool to see some common tropical plants like certain cactuses or succulents in some of the exposed green areas. Love the series as always :)

    I know the series has been focused significantly on the downtown and this new residential area, but I think it could be cool to see some industries and stuff. A power plant (can be solar arrays, or like a reactor building?), some recycling stuff, some factories. yeah its a different vibe from downtown, but I'm sure that with a bit of blending in between and maintaining similar styles you could pull it off really well. other ideas could be some different architecturally themed parts of the city, possibly a harbour (though a harbour other than the one in the cove or the space elevator would probably be for industries on the shore), A much lower density part of the city (for rich and famous people), some recreational districts (like an amusement park), a college or something (since being such a big important city with a space elevator, people would want to come and learn and get opportunities). There is so much you could do, and I cant wait to see what gets done :)

    I like the manicured jungle aesthetic. It makes sense: clear the underbrush while keeping the island vibe with hardy trees that don't really rely on rainforest symbiosis. It's less wildlife friendly, but this is a CITY. The underbrush can be up the hills or whatever. But definitely not with the manicured housing.

    I've been binging the series and am loving it ❤. I have this lore that Asturis is actually on a different planet. The space elevator is actually one of several positioned around the planets equator and connected (via the lazer positioning becons) to an orbital ring where massive cargo spaceships and cruise liners dock. This brutalist complex and the bridge were designed and constructed before the reset of the city as a place for the construction workers of the space elevator to live. It doesn’t have as much shade as expected because it was designed by an off world architect not familiar with the intense sun (LOL).The issue is partially solved by having most of the complex sunken, but future construction incorporates more practical shade structures. The high-speed rail continues in one direction to the planets capital city further in land.

  • @Fabrizio_Ruffo

    I just thought of a WAY better arrangement for that station: Seeing that it is a termination point; instead of the train stopping and turning around at the platform, you should have had the rails run through into a tiny underground 4 lane rail yard. This rail yard would double as both a supply point for the commercial buildings in the station, a spawn point for trains, office space for the railway company above, and all around made the pit more interesting than just a pair of rails. The DC AMTRAC station in the United States works similarly this way. I think Providence as well.. Probably alot of dead end stations now that I think about it It also would have been a safer way for trains to change lanes: The trains would not momentarily drive backwards to change lanes. They would drive forward into the depo and change lanes inside the depo safely out of the way of any other incoming trains.

    Question: If 26:21 is a deadend, could you convert it to a single line at the end? For a light rail, there is no point in it beeing a double rail, because they have to wait anyway, till the station is free.. or am i wrong? It would be more efficient, or not? So, a double light rail convert into a single line raild at the end. Every train has to wait anyway until the train depart from the station. Sorry, bad englisch >.

    I would love to see a more dense older area somewhere in the city turned into a night life district, sort of a sketchy place, to show the city's imperfections as well as economic development. Also a historical district would be nice for contrast with the new buildings. I also think this series needs some story (kinda like what two dollars twenty is doing in "Sunset city"). I don't exactly think it needs characters, but an explanation as to why the Space elevator was built and how the city took it's shape would be really great. Otherwise, a great series. Thank you!

  • @jasonlescalleet5611

    @jasonlescalleet5611

    To me, this feels like a very new city. Like, a new, very well funded colony on one of the most habitable worlds in the human sphere. The old district might have a “nasapunk” look, like Starfield. Very practical and machine-y. It’s where the people lived who built all of these structures, including the space elevator. I figure there’s something valuable on this world that is being mined or grown or whatever and shipped up the beanstalk. Those places might be far away from Asturis (though an industrial district is not a bad idea) and they were the first things built. Then the beanstalk, and then the second-oldest part of the city. Once the goods were flowing, the bigwigs decided that this world is nice enough to visit in person or even live on, thus the recreational/tourist facilities and nice homes with impressive views. There probably *is* a lot of inequality. These buildings in this episode seem like places that the office workers might live in-nice, but not ostentatious and with a serious, no-nonsense vibe. There’s probably a more bohemian area closer to downtown (it may be the old town where the pioneers lived) where artsier folk can be found. Some of those are likely troublemakers, potentially disrupting the corporate/colonial activities. For some reason, I’m imagining there are mecha in use on this world-by workers, criminals, and police as well as the military. I am getting serious Infinity/Masamune Shirow vibes. I wonder if there’s a mod that lets you replace the police cruisers with mechs. I love all this. There’s something about a Cities Skylines build that inspires world building like that. I want to GM an RPG set here. My own cities just look like boring, generic cities. Then again, I am just playing Cities Skylines, not turning it into Blender. Seriously, these custom buildings are incredible!
