Next video has Green Goblin return from the limbo dimension. It was just a week for Spider-man, but a billions years to Green Goblin. He tells in great detail how at first he wanted to escape, then wanted to die, but all he could do is thinking while floating in the void. Eventually his mind transcended existencial planes and that is how he returned. He tells Parker he can ask him anything, and Parker ask about MJ. The Green Goblin gets offended that he became an omniscient being that exists through multiple dimensions, but Parker is still more interested in talking about MJ.

At first I was thinking, "With all the crap Spidey's seen the idea she's gone forever isn't that scary. Dimensional travel is very possible for superheroes, especially when they're sci-fi geniuses." Near the end I started thinking of Red Death's "gentleman villain" speech in Venture Bros, about how some evil plans have a little hope of escape to add tension. Makes villains with plans that have a hope of survival or recovery almost look crueler, taunting their victims before despair sets in.

I mean, odds are Spider-Man could just bring the device to the Fantastic Four! I'm sure Reed could figure out how it works unless the writers are @$$hole$ who make it impossible for anyone to help him and/or he has to make a literal deal with the devil that ends up screwing Peter over by bringing MJ back but he has to sacrifice their relationship & assassinate his own heroic character by making a deal with the freakin devil & never questioning why no one else can help him but a freaking devil can! Then again, most of the misery in Peter Parker's life is cause his writers can't let him just grow up! Also, it's obvious the writing staff wanted to do the death of Gwen Stacy storyline, but with MJ, however, the network wouldn't let them kill her, hence the overly complicated scenario where she is lost forever while leaving open the possibility of her reuniting with Peter down the line! Mind you in the comics, there was this horrible & annoying trend of them reenacting the scenario by having women get chucked off the bridge! At this point, I imagine most Spider-Man fans are sick of it as sure the Death of Gwen Stacy was shocking for its time, but years of superhero love interests getting fridged (including Major Force's brutal murder Kyle Rayner's girlfriend Alexandra DeWitt from which the phrase Women In Refrigerators comes from) & Marvel calling back to it again & again (heck it occurred several times during the Clone Saga & in the infamously bad Sins Past)!

While I agree that this plan is needlessly complex (having to develop a phantom zone projector and all), I can see what the Goblin was trying to do. If he had outright killed MJ Spider-man might've snapped for a bit or even retire, but it leaves the chance for him to properly grieve and grow as a hero. With this, there is no grieving, she's still alive and counting on you to save her, rescuing her will become your obsession, it will plague your mind throughout your life, and in turn will solidify your hatred of the Goblin. Thus creating a torturous existence for the rest of your life.

Imagine you're Satan, ruler of the underworld, the true prince of darkness, relaxing in your throne.
