I started really getting into green day after my father passed away in July of 2020, The entire year of 2021 I was obsessed with the American idiot album.. This mix brought me to tears the first time I played it, the nostalgia is so overwhelmingly strong here even though it's only been less than four years ago

Sorry to hear. My dad passed in April 2021 and that summer getting into Green Day and blink-182’s discographies were the some of the best memories I’ve ever had. Although it was Nimrod for me, I still relate with the nostalgia. It’s crazy how much music can help during hard times.

I know its not comparable to losing your father, but a year ago, I lost my best friend to a brain aneurysm. I feel so much guilt because of our last conversation with eachother. I just left abruptly. Now, hearing 'Whatsername' makes me tear up every time.

There's a clip of them in the studio recording saviors where billie says something like "I want this song to be interesting in the way a song like letterbomb is interesting". I feel like he must have been talking about this song. This song is definitely interesting in the way that letterbomb is interesting and I'm here for it god dam it. And honestly so impressed with this American Idiot mix..... man i miss the american idiot voice can't lie.
