Wonderful . We both went thro this experience in 2010 when we applied for our GC. Born in village / small town birth was not registered. We managed get letters " birth not registered". And 2 affidafit from relatives and affidavit for marriage for me All went thro , got our GC and become citizens in 2018. Actually I have born in Burma and have the Burma birth certificate. We made mistake saying "Place of Birth as Chennai" when applying for Indian passport and we tried to modified this but Indian embassy says can't modify the place of birth later. I believe most of our birth certificate names in India has "Intial.firstname" (not last name) with S/o Father's Name, in this case do we need to get notarized affidavit to show FIRST and LASTNAME together. We got our GC four years back with non availability of BC notarized affidavit, which is very easy comparing to get BC. The person should born in Home . Have to get birth not registered certificate. Have to produce two evidence , who was living there in that time of birth. Notary from lawyer.

Yes bro I believe there are two options in this scenario Getting the corrected birth certificate from government authorities- the timeline and the process are tedious Submit the notarized affidavit from parents would help - easy process but need to get the advice from attorneys might be required some additional supporting docs

My lawyer advised that you need to get a letter from concerned municipality that they don’t offer ‘long-form’ certificate. Something very close to NABC certificate. Got RFE and need to submit by October end.

For filing I485, do we need to have birth certificates for dependents(spouse & children) also?

Have a qn , some of the Birth certificates will not have our names in it as in those days they will fill only parents' names in the birth certificate and have issued it. Hi sister As far as i know uscis may expect the same first name and last name in birth certificate and passport If not just they may issue for RFE and can provide the affidavit for the name issues as mentioned in the video Also we are not the attorneys and immigration attorneys can provide the best solution

My husband has applied for green card . He and me don’t have birth certificate. I485 will be processed only for my husband or they do for dependents too. Which means my husband birth certificate is enough to submit. Or my husband and dependents birth certificates need to submit while processing ?

Derivative beneficiaries will be filed separate I485 along with the primary beneficiary... so technically you would require birth certificate

The registration number in your old BC s key.. using that registration number , Your parents or any relatives can visit the municipal office of the city were you born and fill the child name addition form(your parent signature needed) and give your school certificate photocopy as proof. They will charge within 500 rupees. They will send the new birth certificate in 15 days.. again headsup, they will put initial in front of your name and my father couldn’t convince them to remove it.. 😭
