I love this man so much. I saved family heirloom greasy bean seeds that's been on our family for over 300 years. My great aunt 78 years old had some old seeds that were over 10 years old. I got 8 seeds out of 1500 to pop. Because of this man's video I have replenished the family seeds. This morning I harvested 7.5 gallons of greasy beans. .I so wish he was still alive to send him my love and appreciation. This is a dying art, 3 major corporations that control all our food. Our society has become lazy and dumbed down. I will pass down the art of gardening and canning. Many blessings

Absolutely THE best canning video. The details given leave no questions on how to get the green beans canned. Thank you. This video reminds me of my grandpa. He was a Mississippi man, very patient and he also gave exact details when teaching me to do things. It was so relaxing to watch your video. I am so glad I found you.

My grandfather grew huge gardens every year, around 2 acres of just gardens. If we wanted to ride papaws 4wheeler, we had to go pick peas & bring them back to the house. Then we sat down with our 5 gallon buckets & shelled them. I remember my fingers would be purple & I probably ate more than I shelled. But after we got them all to the sink for mamaw to wash, we got a tank of gas & got to ride in the woods all day! 😊 sweet memories.

Washing the jars doesn't have anything to do with them sealing and staying sealed. When canning I find that if I don't wash the jars, after some time a light film of mold will begin growing especially in the threaded portion at the top. And although, it isn't harmful, it certainly is un-sightly. OAG

Hey Mr. Charles! I've been watching your canning videos some today! And I've just subscribed! We don't have a garden this year but hope to next for sure! I'll be putting up dried beans tom. We have left pr number with the produce stand near our home as he is getting us some of the White Half Runners Green Beans! They're what my mil used to can! He's from East TN and I'm from Middle GA! We currently live in Mid. GA! Near all the peaches! Lol! Just wanted Thank You for sharing all of your tips and expertise with us! You will be a wealth of information for me to look back upon in the weeks ahead and for when we do put in our garden next year! Thank You Sir! ❤

Hello Folks and welcome to my videos. Thank you for subscribing, as you see my videos are here to help you grow a garden and to can what you grow. I have not grown the White Half runner beans, but I think the best green bean to grow is the one I show in this video which is Rattle Snake Pole Beans. Your questions are welcome and I will always try to answer you, although, I readily admit, even after gardening for 50 years, I still don't know everything about it. OAG

Just a comment on the heat. You said it seems to get a little more intense each year, and it actually has. Although I used to be in growing zone 7, I am now classified as being in zone 8, because of global warming. I bet you are now in the next higher zone also. OAG

@@OldAlabamaGardener I love learning from seasoned cooks! My grandfather took care of his own lawn, gardened and canned until he was 99. He fell and broke his femur and had to live with my parents the last 7 months of his life, and we celebrated his 100th birthday during that time! I know part of his longevity was eating from his garden year around and staying active. Keep sharing your wisdom!!!
