Often missed because it was the early season, but ultimately this game decided home field for the NFC Championship game.

If the Cowboys didn't have The December from hell it might not have. Remember 2 losses to Washington and Philadelphia really factored into that.

@@cbod14 sure. But they did happen, and so this game ultimately became pivotal.
You have to actually watch Troy Aikman play-- not look at stats-- to understand why he was a great QB. He had command of the game and never lost composure against the #1 defense at the time. He made it look easy, even with Emmitt struggling in his Yards Per Carry. Brett Favre was great too, but he also lost his composure at times and made bonehead mistakes. Yet "stat guys" in modern times rank him above Aikman.
