Yes, I'm doing Video-Lectures on these northern nations for the Thule series. Some archaeologists believe there was an early alliance (Augustan Era and the First Century AD). Very interesting 1 question I have... you mentioned at the beginning that Massalia was the most outmost western colony. However, there was other cities as well that were even most west. Example, Barcelona.

Yes, you are correct. But in 600 BC, Massalia was probably the first major outpost of Greek civilisation this far west. Massalia helped to establish more distant Greek outposts in later eras...

Massalia was one, if not the first, Greek colony in the Iberian peninsula.

No, "Massalia" is current "Marseille" in Southern France, Provence.

So the vineyards of France must be founded using grapes from Greek colonies throughout the Mediterranean world including Anatolia, Egypt, Sicily, Naples. Now they win all the awards. Go figure...
