I was,Greek in another life. Lol. I worked for Greeks for, years and I think its the most delicious food in the world and Im half Italian! Lol! I love this dish and Greek people know seafood! My old boss was from Mykonos and he used to pull me aside and say come on, you eat with us! I sat down to a huuuge whole fish that had been cooked with spices and lemon and big beautiful chunks of the white fish was put on my plate with a killer tasting rice that had tomatoes and herbs and Im telling you, they prepared a meal worthy of the Gods! Im gonna make this shrimp, as Im a fanatic for a really good feta. Thank you for the vid, great job!
Made it first time last week, and I am making it again today. It tastes wonderful! Thank you.
I think garides saganaki was the very first Greek dish I ever cooked, back in 1999, but I added kalamata olives and didn't know about the lemon juice. Every variation is delicious. Thanks for sharing this video!
I love your presentations. Thank you 😊
Made this for the family. My father who is pretty picky with new dishes commented how good it was. It makes a delicious presentation too. Love the recipe and video. This definitely will be put in rotation.

Wonderful.
Was searching for what to do with leftover feta, shrimp and tomato sauce because they were all I have in the fridge, and came across this video. Best youtube reco ever!! I didn't know feta can taste that good! I normally have it cold on salads/wraps and it's my first time to eat it charred and melted, and holy cow, my mind was blown. This recipe will definitely be a mainstay in my cooking repertoire cause I'm trying to stay away from red meat, so thank you so much! Much love from NZ😘
I love Greek food so much :D

Mine too!! Thanks for sharing :)
Tonight’s dinner! Thank you 🙏🏻
I like to use a 16 oz. Can of fire roasted tomatoes drained, and add a splash of ouzo, with scallion added last with all the ingredients.
For some reason scallions are known as Spring onions in Australia. Shrimp are called prawns here. Nice recipe.

I love your recipe and your videos. But I have to ask what is that song in the intro of this video?
Love the videos!! What's the name of the feta you use? I am sure they'll sell it at Titan :)

thank you! my favorite is Dodonis, but any sheep's milk feta will be great.
This one's on my list...I must say, if they have any Greek restaurants in Nagasaki, I do think Japanese would be rather keen to this dish in particular! Many a far asian palette does not care for cream or cheese in general, but perhaps this is changing? It has certainly been true for a very long time. (I'm sure my Asian friends would have to agree.) A thought about Mexican cheeses I believe they are perhaps just as Greek influence as other...at any rate I think they would make wonderful greek dishes. Availability is the issue though.

Jason Gardner Anagrammatically, it seems obvious to me that people in Nagasaki will love saganaki!
What species of shrimp have you used? or common name?
before you add tomato add Ouzo small cap wait till alcohol go then drop tomato :) after tomato 1-2 Pimpinella anisum is optional but give more aroma .... yes not need to add much salt because Feta has a lot :)
Hi Dimitra what do you mean by a boiler? Oven or grill?
He served that hot ass skillet with his bare hand? BY THE GODS!
Greek food is the best 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
What is the goo brand of sheep's feta cheese that you mentioned? I couldn't find it online.

Anything that is not farm raised :)
OMG I was introduced to Prawn Saganaki when we were on holiday in Greece So delicious and a dessert galaktoboreko I think that’s how it’s spelt Watching this video making my mouth water….and fond memories of Greece
if you must know , these are prawns . shrimps are smaller .
yes farm raised is yucky.. I studied aquaculture in school . farm raised salmon or shrimp is NOT good... happy that you agree
If you’re using canned tomatoes, you don’t need sugar. Tomatoes are usually canned when they’re over ripen right before they turn. It’s when they’re at their most sugary state. Let them simmer on low an extra 20 minutes. Don’t add sugar.
What is the Boiler? exactly

@@DimitrasDishes Thank you Dimitra … I guess covering the Pan while cooking do the same trick. Excellent dish by the way.
great stuff
What do you mean by putting the dish in broiler or boiler towards the end. Forgive my ignorance. Do you mean oven my any chance.
No Ouzo?
you forgot the wine
No ouzo?
In Greece they eat it just like that with crusty bread. No pasta !
What kind of feta is that?

How can you make saganaki without ouzo??? Hmmm
..farm-raised seafood may seem unromantic but it's likely healthier for you; the ocean is polluted with chemicals, waste, & sewage. Our rate of fishing is destroying species & lowering quality standards & raising prices

It depends how the farming is done. I stay away from seafood for the most part due to overfishing...

FDA aprooved seafood ensures no antibiotics. and I agree with Emmy Blonde, farmed seafood is protecting natural fisheries, if done responsably.

Ya, don’t add shrimps 😁
Soooo much talking!!!!
Thx but 2 comments, 1. Talk less and make the video 4 to 5 minutes. 2. Flambe the prawns with ouzo before you making the sauce. This way you will get the Greek taste
Are you even Greek lmfao
