I distinctly remember my Yia Yia singing this to my brother and I, but not this version! She would sing the words herself and clap our hands together as we sat on her lap!! OMG. THE SONG IS GREEK. THE SINGER IS NOT! his pronunciation of the words is horrendous. You should be able to distinguish this from the first sentence. He cannot pronounce: χτυπά, καρδιά, νδερτια or even θλιμμένη and θάνατος. There are countless cover bands from Bulgaria, Serbia, Israel etc. That sing Greek music. The song is 100% greek spyros zagoraios. The singer is not. My guess is he is Bulgarian or from another Balkan nation.

Singer definitely is not greek. Most likely Bulgarian. I dont mind...bulgarians always add a little flavour to Greek songs.

OMG. THE SONG IS GREEK. THE SINGER IS NOT! his pronunciation of the words is horrendous. You should be able to distinguish this from the first sentence. He cannot pronounce: χτυπά, καρδιά, νδερτια or even θλιμμένη and θάνατος. There are countless cover bands from Bulgaria, Serbia, Israel etc. That sing Greek music. The song is 100% greek spyros zagoraios. The singer is not. My guess is he is Bulgarian or from another Balkan nation.

@@thegreekproHe's correct. I'm Greek and can confirm with 100% certainty that this singer isn't Greek. That being said, I always love it when non-Greeks make their own covers of our songs, with their own accents :)

Duke Perenolde Well it isn’t Arabic. Greeks are Ethnic to Europe, Asia Minor and Asia/Middle East. Similar instrumental sounds would be obvious.

The Arabs took some musical qualities in the past that was the similar with Greek music, hence their similarities when that music translated to modern music.

Just because you have a similar word, does not mean you own the word that we have. Not to mention the song Palamakia is a Greek song that's been sung and danced to for many years.
