Greek Alphabet Song
Музыка
A song I made to help me remember the Greek alphabet a very long time ago when I was Pledging Chi Phi. It's a little over 2 minutes long and it's pretty repetitive so that helped. It's basically of a parody of Daft Punk's "Technologic," but I used the Greek alphabet as the lyrical inspiration.

People on here learning for class and I'm learning for Greek Life. Life of a pledge

i like how they end with sir just so we remember
I love how greek alphabet letters makes math look so complicated, since its used in all kinds of physics variables.
y'all saying this is wrong realize this is solely for the purpose of US fraternities
I am Greek. My one year old goes from crying to dancing with this video so i could care less if the pronunciation is not 100%.. KEEP THIS VIDEO UP FOR MY SANITY

jo tho I am a 63 years old lady, and also tonight, I went from cryint to dance with this video; because I am a self-taught person trying to learn some Greek, and even the pronunciation is not the correct, I am going to remember the characters of the alphabet... I really like the beat of this sound!

Marina Garcia Solorzano I am half Greek and trust me even though the beat it good, I would not recommend this for people to use as a substitute for the actual pronunciation. It is 100% off

+Marina Garcia Solorzano I am glad you enjoy, I really made it for fun a long time ago. It is meant to be catchy and entertaining. If you are entertained, I am happy :)
When you're pledging to a fraternity and you have some sort of membership candidacy period, they will tell you to recite the Greek alphabet at any given time during said period. It's traditional to end with 'sir' after reciting the alphabet (or pledge), to acknowledge their status as someone higher or more experienced in the realm of the fraternity that you're pledging to. Hope this clears up all the sir questions.
I'm currently pledging and this song is saving me .
Wow... this song is actually really helping me to remember the Greek alphabet. Thanks for this video.
this is helping fulfill my pledge so much
i like how there is a sir at the end of it
What it is really supposed to sound like is (I'm not hating) Alpha (Al-Fuh) Veeta (Vee-tuh) Gamma (Gam-muh) Thelta (Thell-tuh) Epsilon (Ep-see-lun) DON'T GET IT CONFUSED WITH EEPSILON Zeeta (Zee-tuh) Eeta (Ee-tuh) Theeta (Thee-tuh) Yota (Yo-tuh) Kappa (Kap-uh) Lambda (Lam-thuh) Mee (Mee) Nee (Nee) Ksee (K-see) Omicron (Oh-mee-crun) Pi (Pee) Rho (Row) MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A TONGUE ROLL ON RHO Sigma (Sig-muh) Tauf (Toff) Eepsilon (Eep-see-lun) Phee (Fee) He (Hee) Psee (P-see) DON'T GET IT CONFUSED WITH KSEE Omega (Oh-meg-uh) Tell me if this helped you pronounce the letters or not in the comments I'll make a Greek version too :D

My fav. one is also battle of labyrinth, in Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus is Mark of Athena, only for the Percabeth.
I'm laughing too hard at this
This is the pronunciation for the American Greek system. I think that's the point of this video, not for people who actually want to learn the Greek language 🙈😂 Most people who rush sororities and fraternities in the US have to know this.
When I joined my fraternity this and are creed was a nightmare to remember
I'm greek...and I can say that's hilarious!

I know! It annoys my mum how badly people who speak english/american pronounce greek words and letters
Dude, that's a hell of a materpiece you made here. Please do not delete it, even if it's wrong. Should be saved as a part of mankind's cultural heritage.
Damn Pledges
Guys, chill, it helps! I learn how the letters follow each other, I know I must pronounce this in a more "ancient" way :D
all the Greek people in comments are like ''oh they're all wrong, delete it'' and blah blah blah but i'm here like '' omg THAT IS SO CUTE, PEOPLE ARE INTERSTED IN LEARNING MY LANGUAGE ^^''
I love this video. Most of the pronunciations are like the ones professors use. It's too bad the small letters weren't included--we need to know those too.
LMAO WHO ELSE ON LINE AND GOTTA LEARN THIS SHIT!!!???

You can tell this man was on line from the sir! At the end! Lol!
This sounds like Technologic by Daft Punk and I love it!
Who cares if the pronunciations are wrong. It is just a plain cool song! I'm studying Greek slowly so this helps a lot.
So much thanks for upload this song on youtube!
I've watched this about 10 times and pretty much know it by heart.
We have to learn the Greek Alphabet in my class and she said the first one who learns the Greek Alphabet in 5 days gets like 20 extra points!!!! so this is awesome lol
When I watched your video, it got stuck in my head and now I am about the only one in my neighborhood and of all my friends who can say the greek alphbet, thanks a million! ;-)
This video's pronunciation of the letters are the ancient ones, and not said the way they are pronounced now, in modern times. This video helped me a lot, so thank you.
Great, now I've got it stuck in my head!
We watched this in class and everyone was laughing this is the best thing ever! And Andrew Rodriguez: +SPARTAN PRIDE :3
Is the beat of the song from Technologic by Daft Punk?
I MEMORIZED THE WHOLE GREEK ALPHABET BY LISTENING TO THIS SONG! !!! I'LL SHOW IT OFF NEXT TIME I GO TO TO GREECE

Excellent video my friend, I am Greek that was raised in Greece, the problem with some Greeks here is that they don't know that the pronunciation is a little bit off due to the English language. I don't know not even one Greek word(and we have thousands of them) in the English Alphabet that is pronounced properly. English speakers just changed them so that the words can flow better when combined with their words, which is totally understandable. So I cant blame the Greeks for just trying to be "helpful" :)
nice learned the whole alphabet in like ten minutes
My Social Studies t3echer showed this to us in class when we were learning that alphabet....I think that you did awesome because with out this I wouldn't have it down and remembered.....so, thank you.
I taught my nephew this song. He was bobbing his head the whole time! :)
Yup, exactly. It included all the important stuff we should know about our sorority, like it's history, policies, symbols. Stuff like that. It wasn't a big deal, but it's a way to make sure we actually know our sorority and what it stands for and where it came from. :)
I'm Trying to learn Greek and this is pretty cool. Love the beat
No problem. As you can see, one is able to extract precise pronunciations of Greek words through the Latin. There is no doubt, however, that Classical Greek and Modern Greek are polar opposites in relation to pronunciation.
Wow great song! This song helped me memorize it for my test!
apparently over 12,000 people don't care about the pronunciation errors... I'm sorry little girl, your argument is invalid. ;-)
Chi is pronounced "Chee", where the Ch represents the rough-sounding ch that is best known in the scots words "Loch" or "Stramach", as opposed to the Ch sound as in "Chocolate" or the Ck sound as in "Lick" Psi is pronounced "Psee" - the P hasn't been silenced and it still pronounced at the start before the S Omega is pronounced "Awmeegah" The ones that I haven't mentioned were spelt correctly :P
this song is saving my life now
Correct pronunciation: Α - alpha Β - bita * Γ - gama* Δ - delta * Ε - epsilon Ζ - zita Η - ita Θ - thita Ι - yota Κ - kappa Λ - lamda (special) * Μ - mi Ν - ni Ξ - ksi Ο - omikron Π - pee (xD) Ρ - ro Σ - sigma * Τ - taf Υ - ipsylon Φ - fi Χ - hi (pronounced like hee not HI) Ψ - psi Ω - omega * (*So wherever you see "b" , "g" or "d" there is a special pronunciation for these that cant be decribed by english letters but its the closest one :D) *Flies away*

haha, it gets stuck in my head every time I play it...
Thanks dude, I had to learn this and it helps me very good a 9! On my gymnasium (Netherlands) you have to lissen this song for a test and for Small Tests (SO's)
Thanks for the lead. I really have been through this before, so... I think I'll trod the same old ground as I did at Michigan. I tend to call these digraphs.
All the Greek people have to understand that the pronunciations of these letters as demonstrated in this song are the classic pronunciations of Koine Greek, which was the vernacular of the Roman Empire throughout the Hellenistic period. The pronunciations are therefore correct for those learning Greek in an academic setting where the literature is most commonly from the Hellenistic era.
I think I'm going to have to make my own alphabet video. Two million hits and the pronunciation isn't even right? Gadzeeks!

The video serves to help people memorize the Alphabet. The video-maker apologized for the mispronunciation. Mispronunciation of language/ alphabets is very common anyways. I was born in the South-East of the U.S. and I pronounce some words quite differently than people elsewhere. I know how to spell, so what is the issue? And, where is your video, Sir? I would watch a correct pronunciation video if it was this catchy ....
