+iCallOfDutyDog Greece is definitely in the top 5 in basketball's history: 1. USA 2. Serbia/Yugoslavia (5 world cup title, joint most with USA) 3. Spain 4. Soviet Union /Russia 5. Greece Also today (january 2016), I honestly believe that serbia is the 2nd best basketball national team in the world...people are mentioning Canada and Spain, but Serbia can handle those two with NO problem...Canada are playing on athletisicm and would be wrecked by pick'n'roll with Teodosic as point...Lithuania is the team that is tricky for serbia to defeat...It's just the way they play doesn't suit Serbia....That being said, now that Serbia has Marjanovic and Jokic, I can honestly see only USA beating them, nobody else...even when serbians are having a rough shooting day...

Spain was always a problem. Every year they have a strong team. I hope we make it through the qualifications, and also get a medal. But the Olympics are always harder, so we will see strong games. Yeah, Greece has a big basketball history behind it. I hope that our time comes back, we have a lot of young talents.

one of the greatest talented greek teams ever...with papaloukas, diamantidis and spanoulis great trio guard.!..Usa suffered emphatical defeat and that game was a real lesson for USA's coach mister Mike. He mentioned that game after his defeat to his book writing that the way that Greece managed to win over USA changed his way of coaching his team from now on. He changed substantial system tactics afterwards. VERY proud for that team.!

John White They've romped everyone including FIBA and Olympics ever since this loss. Coach K and the program took this to heart big time and weren't gonna let it happen again. We had a good team here, but I don't think Greece could have won with Kobe, Shaq, and Garnett, who were still at the top of their games. But congrats to Greece. They were tough and deserved to win this one.

These were not full NBA teams this one was full NBA team except from Kobe..they went to become superstars after a while ...but the Greek team had 3 guards that all three were voted No1 European players at some time Experience won

+scotti pippen As spanish, I was excited watching this match. It was great to see that for once, one team plays better than USA and win with total justice. And I´m going to try no tto talk about the steps rule that referies never apply with USA... Technically it´s clear that you have the best players in the world, but I think I´m not the only one who doesn´t enjoy the lack of strategy and tactic defense on the NBA league and so in the national team. I rather to have a league with teams that scores around 60/70 points per match than matches with an average of more than 100 points with total absence of defense. The american basketball style kills the purity of what really basketball means. An example was the final of this world cup. The spanish defense was the key to win the match. Anyways, sorry for my poor english lol and don´t take it as an offense, but I´ve always thought that NBA it´s clearly overated putting ahead the show over all. Regards! :)

Yazoo Actually, i agree on everything you said. It was a fantastic game to watch,the US was simply out-played and out-coached. I have 50% Greek roots, so it was very hard to see the final then, because the Greek team didnt really show up for the matchup. Spain was the best team back then,but if the Greek Team could have played with the same intesitiy as in the semis,it could have been a final for years to be remembered! Spain had and still has a great team though. And Gasol was simply amazing throughout the last games and the final. A well deserved victory! And dont you worry about your English, Dude, mine isn`t that good aswell;-) Greets from Munich
