I am watching from Larisa! So when i go on vacation in August i don't use sunblock! i usually stay in the shadows for the first, second day.I expose my self in the sun, get a mild burn and then i am good to go....No sunblock or hat whatsoever! That's something most Greeks do and we get a good tun from the summer! By the way i am going to the sea at 2-3 o'clock where the sun burns the most.Only old people go for a swim in 10 in the morning and families with small children go after 6 in the afternoon!

Take frequent showers! Avoid going out between 1 and 6. Keep drinking. Live it up at night like the Greeks do. There is a reason there is a law to keep the peace between 2-5 pm and u r meant to keep quiet and have a nap. There is a reason Greeks have dinner late. Greeks come out at night. By the way, you can get sunstroke so buy a hat. Greeks go to the beach at sunset. That is the magic hour. "Mad dog's an English man, out in the midday sun" says the saying.

I just missed this heatwave in Greece. I was in Athens from 3 to 6 June and then in Corfu Island up to 10 June. Even during that period, I experienced few days with over 35 degrees heat.. I'm glad to be back home in Durban, South Africa, where I'm experiencing winter.. 22 degrees today. Greece is amazing.. But I wouldn't leave my home city.. Hopefully our new government of national unity will now make SA the rainbow nation we were meant to be. Kalispera to all the wonderful Greeks and wishing this heat wave ends soon!!

When I lived in Greece 2019-2022, as an American, I never complain about how good our central ac works. In Greece, those units in the rooms work well.. but you better stay in that one room. I was a lot younger and it was a very intense heat - never to be repeated, hopefully!! Greece is your home now. You know what is essential to do to follow the Mediterranean climate routine. As you notice, life in Greece is affected a lot by the climate conditions and the life rhythms are different during the seasons. For example, summers are more relaxing because of the climate and not because Greeks are τεμπέλης. I really enjoy your videos and I adore your perspective / the way you approach the Greek life style. The seas are atill very warm from the hot months of Summer, crowds are somewhat thinning out, and it’s easier to get a table at popular restaurants. Heat waves are global in June due to climate change. We have a pretty good week of heat now in New York.

I did not know the emergency number here was 112! Efharisto! As an Anglo I walk around in a white, broad brimmed hat. I know I look different but it is better than getting (another) skin cancer. And it has saved me several times. Here on Syros Island, we seem to be blessed with much lower maximums - perhaps as much as 7 degrees cooler. But I notice that the minimums are very high - like 22. I had one night in an Airbnb recently that has no air-conditioning, and when I entered the windows had been left open all day. So no sleep that night. It seems that air conditioning is a must these days. When Lee Kuan Yew took control in Singapore, the first thing he did was get air conditioning for the Civil Service - a massive productivity benefit.

No, there is no comparison of Greek climate with any other place in the world. There is no tropical or desert heat in Greece or anything like that. Only Athens is too hot in some days of July but ppl don't come to stay in Athens for vacations on July, (if they are not just totally stupid ofcaurse ). The weather, climate and nature is PERFECT. All the other is just stupidity of TV and propaganda and exaggerations. Everything in the summer in Greece is just paradise on earth and nothing less. All the other epochs is the same but more in summer

There is only some days, let's say 5 to 15 days (it depends) with 40 degrees in the noon (not all day) , the hotter days. And that's all. If one has a fan and is under the shade or has an air condition for these few days, no problem at all. And only for older ppl is more dangerous (well for older ppl everything is dangerous). Ofcaurse one must be a little careful and don't go out with 40 degrees in the noon for walk or to run under the sun it is just stupid. Noon relax in. Greece is paradise on earth and nothing less. Ppl have gone in paranoia with this climate change bs and different bs from their TV's. As if they must stay enclosed to their homes and not move anywhere and don't live their life. It is just a disgusting paranoia of psychological terrorism for anything. I live decades here in Greece and I know the weather here very well. We had in the past more hot summers from now. Nothing very "abnormal". Weather changes some times from ancient times. It's natural. No one will or can die from sun in Greece if he/she is just a little careful. It is not Qatar, Saudi Arabia or a desert in Egypt or whatever, anything like that. This total paranoia must stop

This means taking it easy between 2-5pm. Oh, and please stop trying to eat a steak at 5pm when it is 40 Celsius (102 Fahrenheit). I feel like throwing up just seeing that. Eat at night like the locals. It’s not as hot and you’ll enjoy yourself.

I guess the in Greece, causing Yuge "De"Forestation,+replaced by MassiveWlNDbatteries, will really Cool you Down... Ancient Greece had 🦁 Lions, People..; it was always H0T in the summer! 50% for TheBigGuys, @ EU headquarters 😂😂😂😂

To those of you coming back for the summer after being absent for years. The climate has changed to the negative. No more mild summers in Greece. Prepare appropriately.

Ireland but we are coming to Crete soon. How do us Northern Europeans cope with such heat? We only ever get up to 25 Degrees max and rarely that!! We are not used to ot at all. I guess after a while you would acclimatize?

First of all close your TV's (and channels like BBC) and stop accepting what they show you there without personal knowledge because they will drive you crazy with their propaganda and paranoia. You are traveling for vacations in paradise not in hell (as they present things). Nice summer vacations without some sun is impossible. So it exists also north pole or mountains if one does not like summer vacations. It looks very funny for most Greeks how they present some things and terrifiy ppl because the weather and climate here in Greece is just PERFECT. They present paradise as hell which is funny and stupid af . Ιf you follow the advices of this guy here you will have no problem then, and the more hot days. It's heat but not tropical heat. The climate is very good. When it's a too hot day (that is not every day) as far as you are inside the house or are under the shade with a fan or air conditioner or in a restaurant or bar close to sea in the hours from 1 to 5/6 you have no problem. Next to the beach under the shade it is also cool if it is not a too hot day. A few days ago, for example, it was 40 degrees, but the last days it is around 33 and 35, which is a perfect temperature for swimming and summer vacations. In general, you don't get too hot in the sea because you enter the sea and it cools down and the sea brings a cool breeze. Avoid going out between 2 to 6 o clock and prefer go to beach in the morning or after 5 o'clock if it's a too hot day or in general. But in general if you are in the beach under a tree or a beach bar there is no problem. If you are over 60 years old is better stay that hours in the hotel with the air-condition. When time goes after six you can go to beach. Most Greeks we go to beach in the afternoon. Between 1/2 o' clock we eat. 2 to 5/6 o clock relax, take a sleep, read a good book (in preference written in Greek) , philosophise, do sex, whatever. Prefer to stay to a place in the beach close to some trees or take a bath and go to the beach bar then. Most days after 7-8 o'clock comes a cool breeze from the sea or in general. The islands in general have a perfect climate (in the mainland is the same). Always remember that on Greece it's not a tropical climate that makes the heat very annoying. It's a "gentle" cool summer hotness , that it is adorable All this bs about "climate change" and bla bla bla is just bs... I live decades here as a Greek and the weather is just as it was decades now. Some years are more hot or cold some not. That's all. No 50 degrees on Greece or desert weather and climate or "hell" or anything like that. If you can, avoid July for holidays in Greece, but prefer beginning of June or August. If temperatures of 35/37 degrees seem too high to you, in August and after August 15th they start to drop or they are lower. One can also take baths in September. Greece has types of summer or weather for all preferences. And close the stupid TV's or hearing ppl from yt that they don't know what they are talking about. No problem, they are getting you for vacations, to Paradise, don't panic! 😄

and also we Greeks are not very used to high temperatures. The rest of the days the temperatures in Greece are most of the time below 25. The weather in Greece especially on the islands or near the beaches even on the hottest days is not a problem. I never had a problem. On vacations any time I can be close to the beach. When I feel more hot i just I take a dive in the sea and I go under a tree or the beach bar. Even if there is no shade in the place one is, in the noon for a younger is not a problem. At least if one does not stay too much on the sun. I don't understand all this neuroticism. And this is how things are for most Greeks. Just take a dive in the sea and cool off even at noon. It just needs more attention, don't get burned by the Sun at noon on the skin, that's the only thing. Alternatively, if temperatures above 25 degrees bothers one so much, one finds a river in the north and does sumner vacations there, with some imagination one can fix it 😅. There is no other solution. The summer goes together with this sun and it is just as hot as it should be. Not less not more. It is not something to be annoyed someone, but to enjoy, it is enjoyable, to feel this heat in the body and then the sea etc, it is part of the whole experience. It is natural and beautiful.. Ofcaurse one must not go on a hot July day in the noon at Acropolis. Go on late afternoon after 8 o'clock, when sun is falling (in the summer by the way in Greece is until 9 o'clock still day) We Greeks never do that and we look on some tourists doing that, and we are thinking "where these ppl they think they are going with this sun ? What the heck are they thinking ? ". It looks really very funny
