I usually don't include PED users, but I did for this just to show where they would be. Exclude them and that's what the non-PEDs GOAT list looks like. Probably add in Cormier and Izzy at 9 and 10 after. Two small corrections, I forgot to include the Rob Font win for Aldo as a good win for him and the Yair win for Holloway. Doesn't change their placements but wanted to correct that.

Dominates Frank Mir and Roy Nelson in the UFC before moving to 205lbs and getting wins over Hendo, Rumble twice, Gus, & Oezdemir. Finally moves back to HW and knocks out the goat of the division to claim the belt, and dominates Derrick Lewis. He’s a simultaneous double champ, first to successfully defend two belts, 4 title defenses, and has a 15 fight win streak. Only lost to the greatest fighter of all time and the greatest Heavyweight of all time. Cherry on top, outside of MMA he’s a multi-time wrestling gold medalist. One of the most respectful combat careers ever.

I think using how many champions someone beat is a misguiding stat. Basically dominant champions are being punished for being dominant for a long time. Anderson Silva didn’t beat many champions because he was the only champion for years.

I think people really underrate nunes being on this list. Beautiful list BUT… we need to talk about Jones’ #1 ranking and Cormier’s absence. Excluding Jones three most impressive performances where he was clearly on PEDs and his clear loss to Dominick Reyes, Mighty Mouse and GSP both have more title wins. Prior to his win against Cormier at UFC182, Jones's testosterone/epitestosterone (T/E) ratio was incredibly low, very likely resulting from banned substance use. Prior to his cancelled second fight against Cormier, he tested positive for Clomiphene and Petrozole. Prior to his 2nd win against Cormier at UFC214, he tested positive for Turinabol, an anabolic steroid. Jones then tested positive for ‘pulsing’ Turinabol before his next fight against Gustafson, no evidence has ever been provided that Turinabol can pulse and they had to change the location because the Nevada commission would not let him compete. It’s reasonable to include in the GOST list, athletes who popped one or maybe twice however, Jon Jones whole legacy has been brought into question.

Great video. So glad you included fedor. Nott only a great fighter but of the camera he was calm and didn't trash talk. Watch his staredowns before his fights. He was different. P.s weseal can you do a video on some legendary pride fighters.

Argument for Jones: Undefeated, most (big) title defences Argument for Khabib: Undefeated, took no damage, most dominant Nobody denies that Jones has the most achievements when it comes to titles, the argument that is brought up for Khabib being the goat is just a different one. If you take title defences and wins as the highest criteria, then nobody can deny Jones. If you take dominance as the main criteria, then there is noone close to Khabib. And even if his early record might be "padded" like some might say, he still literally walked through the elite of the UFC and most likely would have continued doing so. It's basically admitting the top of the UFC had to offer were fighters that got wiped by someone with a "padded" record. It's a foolish argument. That's just my point of view.

Fair enough but Khabib gets that invurlnerability at a high cost he doesn't stand a chance in terms of longevity against Jones he quit early with a flawless record but that NEVER makes you the goat when other fighters stick around longer risking it all. the only person who would choose dominance is the main criteria is someone who needs to cherry pick the criteria to allow khabib to be higher than top 5. jon jones literally has more title wins than khabib has ufc fights. khabib should be 6 at best. 2 wins over former champions bro....2....dominance in a very short window is not as impressive as staying at the top across multiple generations. not even in the same stratosphere. just stop, bro. it's embarrassing.

Well his career was far more successful than max holloways so he is above him for sure lol, but Volk idk. Volk has better wins but Aldo reigned for longer and still looks good, I would put Volk above him but I understand why he is that high, Holloway I would put way down honestly

That 9 year unbeaten run just goes right over peoples heads. Aldo definitely deserves it. Even Max acknowledges Aldo as the best above himself and Volk; and Max beat him twice. People sleep on Aldo from recency bias. If you were a fan of the sport when Aldo was taking legs as souvenirs you wouldn't be questioning his placement. Aldo was winning consecutive fights for longer than most people have been fans of the sport.

Hey Weasle, I would love to see you make a top 10 best fighters of all time list based on skill. I know earlier you mentioned that in terms of skill, most middleweights and above would not make the list just because the lower weight classes are that much more competitive. For example, while I agree that Khabib is not the greatest fighter of all time in terms of accomplishments, I personally have him as the Best MMA fighter of all time because I believe that his style would beat everyone. Would love to hear your thoughts though and keep up the great work!

Jon Jones "level of competition" were fighters that were on their way out. From Shogun to Belfort, all of them were: shorter, smaller, and above all, OLD. After they fought Jones, they probably had 3 more fights and called it quits after decades of fighting in MMA. He also lost to Reyes, Gustaffson and Santos.

@theefamgod I am really surprised DC isn't in the top 6. Regarding the fighters who fought for titles: Gustaffson to most people won, so he isn't counted as one of the old fighters. Vitor was on T and other PEDs and didn't win any fights without them. Machida is the only one who fought for a title and lost and then lost ALL his fights against top contenders: Phil Davis, Luke Rockhold, Yoel Romero, Derek Brunson. Same with Rua, Rampage, Rashad, Chael, etc. Who stayed on top for years after their fight against Jones? Nobody. And officially, to one judge, Jon lost the fight against Marreta. Jones has used PEDs all his career + fought older fighters + poked eyes wherever he was getting caught and was given 3 fights to keep his record intact.

Aldo cannot be the featherweight goat. Every great featherweight he fought he lost to. Conor Mcgregor(literally lost in 13 seconds), Max holloway x2, and Volkanovski. Meanwhile Volk beat holloway x3, ortega, and had an amazing performance against makhachev. Volk is the featherweight goat hands down. Also aldo was 32 when he fought volk, and volk was still on the come up at that point. If anything, also was in his prime and volk was not. Not sure why you left that out

Silva #8 is disrespectful. People forget that before the UFC Spider was already a household name in MMA embarking in runs out of Brazil, Japan, Hawaii, Korea, and the UK. He had already defeated some of the best fighters of the 2000s like Hayato Sakurai, Carlos Newton, & Yushin Okami. I also never understood the “weak competition” narrative. I vividly remember people thinking Chris Leben (who was a killer) would give him a run for his money, Hendo’s wrestling presenting an issue for him, and Vitor having that puncher’s chance. The resumes of his opponents seem to have become forgotten by many, probably because of how much the sport has evolved and all the newer, less-knowledgeable fans that enjoy the product today but don’t go back to look at the past elites. Throughout his career we’re looking at defeats over 5 UFC champions and 22 champions across the world overall. Also, from a performance standpoint he arguably has the greatest peak ever. No one defended their title like he did. The Michael Jordan of MMA.

Aldo was not in his prime against Max 😂 if you watched him from his best years to then he was not as mobile, durable, quick, and even stopped utilizing the brutal leg kicks he’s known for at times. He was also more takedown prone compared to earlier in his career when it was nearly impossible to take him to the ground. Not to take anything away Max but if you think that was the same Junior in 2017 your crazy 😭

why? I don’t actually disagree. his resume is a bit overrated. the dude ruled against a weak division. out of his 16 fight win streak only 8 of them were good quality wins. I would agree with him being top 5 if he didn’t lose 7 out of his last 9 fights. that losing streak definitely hurt him in the goat rankings. I definitely think he should be a bit higher like 6 or 7.
