Max needs to be celebrated like the prodigy he is. The man was a lock for the HOF and was a strong candidate for the 145lb GOAT before he turned 30. There is a real possibility that this masterpiece of a performance is the start of a second run of dominance for Max. It sounds fking crazy, but Max is in the middle of his physical prime right now at 32. I feel blessed to have been a fan from the very beginning. Watching a kid straight out of highschool making a run straight to the top of his weight class was surreal and inspiring. That kid is now a man, but it looks like he is still running towards even greater heights. The blessed express only moves in one direction, forward, towards greatness.

@@213kilacali I remember when people said he fell off against volk and his time was finished. That shit sounded crazy to me. For one thing, I felt he won the second fight, and besides that, none of the volk fights were one sided beatdowns. It was never a skill issue, it was a style issue. With the addition of Volk being in his absolute mental and physical prime age wise, where Max was the younger of the two and still in his mid twenties. The current Max just dismantled a top 3 ranked fighter at 155, and put him out cold no less. If he carries that power back down to 145 it may just be the second dawn of the blessed era. Pure entertainment. The BMF is Blessed babyyyyyy!

What the fight boiled down to for me is Gaethje has never learned how to win a 5 round fight. After all the years of training and fighting he still just wants to stand in front of another fighter and swing as hard as he can. By the time Max allowed him to do that Gaethje had suffered a broken nose, two eye pokes, and 24 minutes of strategic damage. When Justin finally got to stand in front of Max he had nothing for him. Painful lesson but one he should have learned long ago.

@Adam-gf5xe Gaethje has lost every 5 round fight he's ever fought with the exception of Tony Ferguson. In that fight he just stood in front of Tony and swung for the fences. He's done this his entire UFC career so I don't see how discussing Gaethje's strategies does Max a disservice. Justin and his team have never came up with a 5 round strategy and he'll continue to lose until they do or until he gets a new team.

Hello DJ, i have a question for you, you talk a lot about the "void" and for my understanding you mean the space in between the fighters right? i also heard the expression "pocket" and "no man's land", i would like to know the difference between these expressions. In my understanding the "pocket" is where both fighters can touch each other, and the "void" is just the space in between. Every time a fighter walks towards the opponent the "void" gets shorter and shorter, until they are in the "pocket" is this correct? And another thing, in this fight you said: "Holloway tells Gaethje: i want to fight you inside the void", if both are so close, doesn't this mean they are not inside the "void" because they are so close the "void" is still in between them, but now the "void" is very very short space. If someone can correct me about these topics, i would really appreciate. Thank you and keep up the good work DJ.

I think at 13:24..? The breakdown of Max throwing up and down Justin' against fence and stopping and backing up and resetting in the middle was a great point for fans watching not understanding the footwork involved, body alignment, balance and recognizing when that happens .

Max Holloway is officially a top 10 fighter of all time, and a fan favorite. This was one of the best overall performances we’ve seen, and the flair for the dramatics at the end that he made happen is just legendary. Bravo MAX!
