I feel like bird was forgotten about for quite a while, then you young fellas brought him back on KZread, and it's really nice to watch and see the younger people enjoying his game.

Great video, great reaction. I'd love to see more Bird. I highly suggest the documentary between him and Magic called "A Courtship Of Rivals". I learned so much from that. Any Bird will do - His trash talking is legendary. Thank you

They all loved Larry because everone ate. He could have average well above 30 if he'd wanted to, but in 86', the entire starting five averaged double digit scoring because Larry wouldn't hesitate to give the ball up to any open player in green.

I think it's why the team never hesitated to pass the ball back to Larry, because Larry wasn't selfish.

Those full court passes! When he's passing into nothingness. The player he's passing to isn't there yet, but he knows who he's passing to and he knows they will be in exactly the right spot when the ball gets there, and of course, they are. He was such a joy to watch.

There are 34 outlet passes in that video. Every single one of them was on the money, and quite a few of them were into traffic. You watch this video, you realize Larry was playing Basketball, Volleyball, and Football out there on the court.

And NBA Player Said: Magic Made Easy Passes Look Hard & Bird Made Hard Passes Look Easy. If You Noticed Bird Could Have Took A lot Of Those Shots Himself BUT He Was Always About Making His Whole Team Being Involved. Till This Day NO One Has Passed Bird's IQ & Around Player. Can You Imagine If He Was Just All About Himself & What His Stats Could Have Been. Nope He Was About Team & Winning. You Should Check Out; Making The Case for Larry Bird.

Bird to his teammates: Go long! Something everyone misses that I think is interesting is the comment from the sportscaster, "Larry Bird has to lead the league in assists lying on the floor." No one else did that, fight for a loose ball and pass it to an open man, but Larry did it all the time.

Great video. Thanks guys. In another video, said in High school. Coach got old football helmets for Larry's teammates to wear till they learned to see Larry's passes coming. I wondered how many noses Larry F ed up!

I believe that! There are a couple times where McHale looks down at the ball like, "Where'd this come from? I guess I'll just stuff it then!"

This is what made Bird so dangerous on the court. Everyone knows he is one of the best shooters of all time. But now you see how dead-on and unpredictable his passing was. This is what made his fakes so absolutely effective. If it wasn't bad enough that defenders had to honor his shooting, they also had to honor his passing. This is why he was out there breaking ankles. What is he going to do and how do you stop it? He was able to change his strategies on the fly and already had at least 2 or 3 moves he was going to use depending on what any defender was going to do. They couldn't give him even an inch of an opening but had to be prepared for if he shot the ball himself as well. This is why it was easier to guard great players like Jordan. At least you know how Jordan was going to beat you. You likely wouldn't have been able to stop him but at least you wouldn't look like an idiot because of some pass or shot that 99% of other players would never have the confidence to take due to the difficulty. Bird was out there playing basketball, throwing like it was football, using angles and spinning the ball like in billiards, and tapping like in volleyball all with the IQ of a great chess player. Pure talent and athleticism wasn't enough to beat him and he got his kicks by making even some of the greatest players to touch a basketball start to question their own abilities.

Look at the traffic in the paint that he lasered the ball through. Threading the needle truly meant something then. The spacing on the floor now means its much easier to getbthe ball anx, thus get assists.

Hey guys, that was a great video, I'm a huge Bird fan. Also a great reaction. Since this was a passing video and you mentioned some great passers at the end, I wanted to ask you to check out Jason Williams White Chocolate. His passing is off the charts, but since he can shoot too - His 45 Best Plays would be a good video to start with. Much love to the JVee Project.

One thing his coach said was Larry knew if a guy needed to get in the flow of the game and he would look for that player on purpose to get him involved. He truly wanted to win. His stats meant nothing to him as long as he won. Truly unselfish. Todays players could learn from his attitude.

Just one of many reasons Larry is a legend. MJ made you look SLOW... Larry made you look STUPID. And James Worthy isn't the only one who prefers to look slow. 😂

Some of these stun the teammate tht got the ball & the defender tht was all the sudden guarding the guy who now has the ball lol. As if the ball teleported. Thts why u see the dude tht caught the pass do like 4 confused pump fakes. He's processing & workin thru what jus happened loool 😂😂 Idk about greatest passer? Def a top tier passer tho. The vid should be named fastest passer ever & then no argument. In 1 slow-mo clip he receives a reg chest pass at the 3pt line & volleyball spikes it for a wide open layup. He had his hands/arms in position ready 2 power slap it before his pass even arrived. He made the play happen but only possessed the rock for maybe a 10th of a second. Tht shii crazy. Plus he didnt even look which was jus being extra. The D wasnt stoppin it at the speed it happened even if he starred. Tht made me say aye yo cause it looked like he had watched tht play 10 times & memorized it. I thought ppl was jus yappin bout how he was the smartest. Idk but he was 4 SURE seeing shii faster than errybody else. Even the camera man got caught lackin a few times

What other Hall of Famer can lay claim to helping produce not one, but three other Hall of Famers. While Dennis Johnson, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish were great, would they have been HOFers without Larry's passing and leadership? I'm gonna say nope.
