@shabeki3 жыл бұрын
IMO, this has been a 20 year dynasty. And it began and ended with Tom Brady (or maybe began with Tom Brady and ended with Zdeno Chara). When Brady took over as the starter, the Patriots won 2 Super Bowls before the Red Sox finally ended their own curse. By 2008, the Patriots had a near-perfect season and didn't have to carry Boston because both the Red Sox and Celtics were now defending champions in their own sports. And the Bruins won their division too, lol. When the Bruins finally won the Cup in 2011, the Pats again had a Super Bowl appearance and the city wasn't as upset with the Red Sox choking a playoff spot on the last day of the season or the Celtics being a year removed from choking a championship. Then the Pats add even more championships while also making the AFC Championship Game 8 years in a row and come within a score of being the first ever football team to win 3 Super Bowls in a row. And when Tom Brady leaves right after the Bruins choked a championship away on their own home ice, Tuuka opts out the next season and the team underperforms in the playoffs. And now that Chara is gone, Toronto finally leapfrogs their longtime eliminator. But who is still winning championships 20 years later in a new city? Tom Brady. Boston was a baseball town for decades where the Red Sox always dominated the sports headlines no matter if they were good or sucked. But since the Red Sox finally ended their curse around the time Tom Brady came to town, they're not always the biggest draw in Boston. Brady pretty much built the foundation of confidence that all Boston sports teams came to enjoy. And this is coming from a Jets fan, lol.
