Greater spotted woodpecker hammering away at a log to find grubs

This was a newly cut log and as hard as nails, his beak goes through it like butter to find food , we were so lucky to get this footage !

    Yeah that is incredible footage! You can even see his tongue darting in and out as he gets the grubs. I don't know what's more impressive about these guys, the fact that they know exactly where the grubs are (I suppose they must have very acute hearing) or that they don't end up with a screaming headache after each meal... Yeah we'll have to catch up again on email, you still on the same email?
