3rd time filming at Weston-super-Mare on the Weston Loop of the Bristol to Exeter Line and my 1st visit back in over 3 years

Weston-super-Mare station was built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel opened as a single line terminus from Weston Junction in 1841 was re-sited twice
It was first re-sited in 1866 however the present station dates from when it was re-sited a 2nd time in 1884 which at the same time when the loop line was opened.
Weston-super-Mare was up to 1933 the only station on the Weston Loop until when Weston Milton opened which that nowadays serves a housing estate. That opened with 2 platforms however was singled line along with the rest of the loop in 1972.
The 2 platforms of Weston-super-Mare are bi-directional which can be used in both directions either by terminating services from Bristol Parkway or London Paddington or through services from Cardiff Central, London Paddington to Taunton and Paignton.
Platform 1 is occasionally used by terminating services to and from Avonmouth and Severn Beach
Today services provided from Great Western Railway from London Paddington provided by Class 800 or 802 IETs terminate on Platform 2 or used for through services to Taunton as well as Cardiff Central to Penzance services.
The main reason is that Platform 2 is longer than Platform 1 with the former long enough to fit a 9 car set or a 10 car comprising of two 5 car sets coupled together.
The short sets continue on for the Class 43 Locos which operate Cardiff Central to Penzance services which today known as Castle HSTs however their days in service are numbered and at the time of filming they were in their last months of operation with all Castle sets due to be withdrawn by December 2023.
During the summer season the area can be heaving with holiday goers in particular at the famous on the seafront of Weston-super-Mare's Grand Pier which unfortunately was burnt down in a fire in 2008 however was rebuilt and reopened in 2010.
