Probably to do with the concentration (notice how he's pushing down and pulling up on the lever to slow the cart down aswell as speed the cart up) aswell as just enjoying the ride probably

I rode it almost every year before I went to junior high school. Miss it a lot.

That was really cool. In Poland we were at this small toboggan run but it was NOT as long as the you were on! Cool that you had the GoPro.

This used to be a lot faster but they slowed it down. You are sitting on magnets with a deadman lever. You pull back on the stick(lever) to release the magnets and when you let go they grip the stainless steel slide and slow you down. The click-clack noise is created by the strips they put in to slow it down. They slowed it down to lesson the risk of ramming slower people in front of you. It was designed to be much faster than the video shows. It's still fast, but before they slowed it down it would go as fast as you dared. Once the Grand Daddy of E-ticket rides in my book.

I was there in 2018 and did it, but during the day there are so many person on the track, that you have to go desesperately slowly. Lucky man in the early morning I believe :)

Beyond Amazing

I rode it few years ago and it was great fun. If you don't apply the brakes at certain corners it does speed up. Just have to follow the sign instructions but if you want to go fast....it will go fast. It beats taking the cable car down.

I rode the same type many times in New Hampshire years ago. Fiberglass tracks. My pal lost it once on a turn, crashed and slid down the track partly on his face. Forehead road rash is no joke. But we all laugh about it now when someone brings up that memorable day.😂

I remember going to the Great Wall in 2000, pity I never knew about the toboggan ride there, if I knew about it I would definitely have gone on it.

ahhh huge miss out. i will say, have you read about gutter oil because i found out after MY 6 week trip to Tianjin and Beijing back in 05, and statistically i forget the exact number cuz I'm stoney baloney, but it was something like 25 minimum meals fried in sewage. i ate at least one meal a day from the street vendors. NEVER EAT AT A KOREAN RESTAURANT IN CHINA. I GOT FED HORSE AND DOG AS BEEF.
