To re-attach, you could use a vice or another sort of clamp... Even a hammer in some cases, but that's not advised.

THANKYOU very much for showing this... i usually change gear ratios for my robotics projects/competitions ... and i was fed up using screwdrivers n scissors n vice.. now i can reuse many motors...

Mine was stuck so bad the set screw broke off inside and the plate bent. Ended up breaking the shaft (I was tossing the motor), and setting it on an open vice, using the press pin from the kit and a hammer. Looks like heat works well too, I'm going to try that for the next one.

can u reattach it by the same tool?

i used to put fire or hot gun concentrate on the gear, high temp will make gear expand and easy to remove

For small pinion will work but for bigger nope... I just use long nose pliers, concrete nails, hammer, and a lighter..and a pair hands of your friend:) cheap and safe...

flinco cowalski heat them with a hand torch metal swells when hot you can get them off that way also but you have to pretty much have them glowing hot and it might damage the motor.
