10x Assisted Single Leg Kneel

3x 20s Kneeling
3x 20s Single Leg Kneeling, per side
3x 5s Kneeling Single Side Marches
Start one side at a time so you can assist yourself into the positions, then over time build up your range of motion & time in each exercise!

    57 and I’ve never been able to sit on my legs prolonged. The ankles will be okay but it’s my knees! The sides, top of knee/quad and behind the knee want to explode. Help me focus on that puhleeeze 🥹😅

    Put a couch cushion between your butt and your calves, then sit on your heels. But Jenni goes through an excellent progression of exercise! Then search through the TM videos for other routines for the knee range/ quad flexibility.

    using these exercises should help the knees too! But stick with the first couple, not the ones on the floor until you can comfortably sit back on your heel on the assisted single leg variation! Just got to get those quads loosened up!

    thanks for this. is it normal to feel it a lot on the achilles, from the heels trying to push up towards the calves?

    yeah that's really common! Could be that your foot & ankle is just tight right now so the bits & bobs aren't moving out of the way as easily as they should. It should reduce with practice :)

    I’ve rolled my ankles a lot overs seas. I almost broke my left one at home once and sometimes they give a wicked loud pop

    Is it achievable to everyone or there a certain anatomical anomaly besides just stiff muscles ,ligaments and tendons?

    Yes it is, sometimes it can just take a lot longer than you would think really!

    I can kneel like that without too much trouble. However I can't maintain plantar flexion when I swim without effort and sometimes cramps. Any tips on extending the range of motion and the ability to point my toes in the water. As a triathlete the swim is my weak spot and this is just one of the issues.

    that's more like Active Plantar Flexion! It's essentially just a case of practice, whenever you can (sitting watching TV etc), try to practice holding a toe point for longer & longer periods of time!

    I can sit on my heels really easy but I really struggle to sit on my heels but up on my toes . It’s needed for ju jitsu but it’s so painful . Do you have any videos for that

    What about dorsal flexion? I know it maybe a pediatric/occupational therapy concern but my toddler toe walks which we believe hinders her dorsi flexibility. Any stretches you can recommend?
