Sorry - commented already, but just have to do it again. I could not take my eyes off the monitor for the entire time. This video was nothing short of INCREDIBLE!!!!! Absolutely great direction along with EXCELLENT commentating. I have watched this video daily since i first ran into it a few months ago. This video has started my "itch" to put together my own offshore race team. I cannot wait to see the next video from you guys. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING WORK!!!!!!!!

Without question my favorite offshore powerboat race video. Fantastic narrator and Carly was a great host as well.

Incredible production, @Marcus G. I have watched this video many times and it is pure bliss. Especially, the scenes at @31:17 with the music, the stunning helicopter, and slowmo shots. Just wonderful, it feels like dreaming. Congrats on creating such a documentary!

This is the most professional package ever done of the Great Race. Excellent!

Well done Total Monster!!! Is that Dave Scott's old Budweiser boat?? You don't see many 46Skaters on the race courses any more. One of the most beautiful boats on the course now! I loved how they painted the canopy, very distinctive. Too bad about Vortex. :( That looks like the old Aqua Mania boat. I believe they would have caught TM if they hadn't broke. Turbine Mystics are the bad boys of Offshore racing. I curse SBI for dropping the turbine class. GEICO had finally got some competition from QATAR but then the boat burned up. :( :( It was imho the greatest raceboat ever built. Kudos to your announcer who kept me totally informed throughout the race and special mention to the gorgeous Carly Coutts who performed her presenter job so well! The helo cameramen also were exceptional in a very dangerous job. I've been following Offshore powerboat racing for many years and this is hands down the best race video I have ever seen!!

This is the best coverage I’ve seen. Gino Fusco did an incredible job on commentary and the music score was perfect, Carly was great with prefacing what was coming up but still nothing compares to see Monster, Mr Solo and Vortex. Hope you follow suit with this coverage in 2019.

it has always been a dream of mines to be in one of the boats with the racers....i love great race and i love this video. keep up the good work Marcus.

Well done Marcus and team! Carly and Gino perfectly complimented the mood and action of this year's race. I saw you posted it on facebook at around 3am and even though I was lacking sleep, I remained spellbound by the action and Gino's great commentator voice. Loved Carly's info segments and Gino's funny quips. Love this new format, looking forward to next year's race!

Nothing I don't like about this film. Photography, editing, music, sound, presenting, action, all superb. More effort went into this than the UIM puts into promotion of powerboat racing.

+Geoffrey Maduro it's near impossible to record sound traveling over 100mph aslo with helicopter turbines and rotors spinning over your head the wind blowing into the microphone just sounds like terrible distorted noise. We are still doing tests and working on a way to make it happen but only get one test a year so hopefully in time it will be possible

WOW, excellent video of some awesome flying boats!! I only wish I could have heard the boats screaming engines more. Do you ever mic the engine bays of the boats?

we would also love to find a way to get the sound of the boats in there, the gopro audio isnt great and putting mics in a noisy helicopter with up to 100mph winds blowing into them just drowns out any chance of getting the engine raw in. putting recorders with mics in the boats could work but is a very expensive option and we work on a very tight budget so one day hopefully we will figure it out as it is missed every year!

I shot my weberies Velocity Quest on a very tight budget also. I bought a cheap camcorder to pickup engine sounds. Not the best way to get good sound, but effective. If you can source the right material, you can make your own mic sweater and it will greatly reduce wind noise. Here is a link to make your own. Thanks for your effort and the videos!!!!!!

Hi Don Z, we would too but unfortunately the mics on the cameras with 100 plus mile an hour winds blowing into them only capture wind noise and no useable boat sounds, if filmed from onshore it is possible but we are working on ways in the future to try figure something out

The course is about 115 miles long and takes the faster boats depending on sea conditions just over an hour to complete
