Great video, unfortunate life for poor cziffra… may he rest in peace😢
Will you ever do a video on Liszt? You've mentioned him a lot, but still no video!

I did a video on Liszt back in the day, but it was plagued with technical problems and focused 90% on his life and only 10% on his music. One day I'll remake it, but these things take months of work, so I wouldn't be banking on it any time soon, sorry.

@@ClassicalNerd I understand, especially because your videos are so detailed and well scripted. But maybe before releasing any more videos on people whose music is unlistenable (like Babbitt) you could do one on Liszt ;).

@@JG_1998 Unlistenability is relative. It's why I keep track of requests and fulfill the most popular ones.

@@ClassicalNerd I agree, but Babbit literally made his music as hard to listen to as possible and wrote an essay called "Who cares if you listen". That's why i used that word. I know composers like Liszt are more basic, and don't have get the same recognition in academic circles as the serialists. But a Liszt video would get a lot more views than another serialist one! Also: Leopold Godowsky would be another interesting video to do, that would likely be shorter than one on Liszt. Either way, I appreciate the work you do. Even though I really don't like serialism, I still watch your videos on serialist composers because of your wit/humor.

Also: whenever you happen to get to the Liszt video, please for the love of god spend more time looking at his later works after he stopped touring as a concert pianist. I'm sure you already know, but he became much more radical after this, and wrote better music in general. Check out his 2nd ballade for an example
You got a new sub easily
Cziffra number 1 pianist ever

Fantastic! I'd love to see your take on his fellow Hungarian prodigy, Ervin Nyiregyhazi ...

@@ClassicalNerd I can't wait to see your take on this extraordinary and eccentric musician. :-)
Can you do one on Ludovico Einaudi? My favorite piece is una mattina!!! He so good.

I don't really tend to cover living composers, because it's hard to have a career retrospective if the career in question is still ongoing. Plus, with many composers, it's hard to put them and their work in the complete cultural context without being able to look at their entire career and body of work from a sort of "birds-eye" view. Sorry!
