Here in FL. For a $18 a month cola raise, snap taking $158 away. Why don't they just decrease it $18 instead of more than half? Greedy.

I get $13 a month. I buy a dozen eggs loaf of bread and a gallon of milk .. if I’m lucky I can get a box of cereal depends what store I go to

They can't agree on anything other than giving themselves raises. Smh. 😂😢 as we are not able to eat they are flying off on private planes etc drinking hundreds of dollars of wine.

We all don't have to guess about it. We all know what they're going to do. Not a damn thing for the American people, especially the people on fixed income

They need to increase food benefits across the board. I know a family of 3 that gets $244 a month in SNAP benefits now, and will only get $207 starting in January due to an increase in SSI/SDI benefits. Absolutely ridiculous! I thought $244, was ridiculous, but $207?? Holy cow! How do they expect 3 people to get enough groceries for a month on that??? They say that people will get a cost of living increase, but in all reality the increase will have to cover what is being lost in SNAP benefits. This just makes no sense to me. Maybe if they lowered the cost of food it would be better, but, even still, $207 for 3 people a month is just absurd.

I was getting $100 Snap but it was lowered to $35 due to SSI $50 increase...Out of Pocket for Groceries was an add'l $200 due to the food inflation at $100..Gov Titter Totters with SS Recipients receiving ANY Benefits...Soo Pathetic!😒

But, here’s the thing, though again not a one of you are picking upon or registering, The DFC/ The Department Of Family And Child Services, Although The Programs Are Federal Your Elected State Governors Pay Into The SNAP Program and, Again Those State Governors Paid In Extra During The Pandemic With It Being A Federal Health Emergency! AKA/ That is why the State Governors wanted It To Come To A End, As Soon As They Could, Which They Had The Authority To Do So! Besides You We’re Told That They Would Not Be Permanent! Again this is also why your regular Monthly Benefits Very By State it, is because,it all depends on what your state governor’s paying in against your monthly income! So, if you want to look at where to point the finger, there you go!

Last Year because of my $73.00 increase I started getting $243.00 worth a Food Stamps instead of $276.00 but it was a blessing I didn't get cut off. I started getting $943.00 at the end of December.

I hope so, as Social security can really use it

Thank you Matt for bringing this update. No it's not surprising they didn't get the farm bill negotiated or passed. With this being an election year they probably won't get it done this coming year either. The hope for increasing our benefits has been avoided as well. Maybe next year or God forbid something happens that we are given extra benefits due to some sort of catastrophic event that happens. Thank you for this update. We appreciate all you and Corey do for us. You two are a beautiful couple. May God continue to bless you and your family and all of us here in this community and country ❤.

They are constantly doing nothing for those of us who are in dire need of help. We need to make Congress take responsibility for the low income/no income.

I'll be 70 this month I'm not going back to work.

So I lose some of my Snap bc of this little raise I would receive in 2024.I suppose they will do the same with SS DO nothing.!

I get snap for my disability but since my income is going up my raise I got in October is going to be taken away due to the raise of my disability check. So I'm going from one person of $175 to $158 and I still have to purchase the groceries for 5 adults at home. Even though I get help from pantries it's still not sufficient in this household

For one your monthly disability check didn’t go up in October, it went up after the first of the year! You SNAP COLA Went Up in October And, everyone gets this allowance every year in October! You need to double check that, Cause, I know what is what and, they aren’t going to take that much away from your monthly benefit, it’s just unrealistic! Because, I am on disability myself and, I am on my own and, I only lost $10 from my monthly benefit! The only way they would take away that much is if you are receiving other income that’s coming into the household!

No Matt, In Georgia my renewal was to be in the 15th off October I had Covid, turned it in 2 days late. Got a letter dated the 12th that my case was closed. They already planned to take them. To give to Mexicans. No food for thanksgiving or Christmas.

I expected the rise and I expected the fall, saw the end of A C P coming no crystal ball required...I suspect HEAP will be next, along with things like non medical transportation...the Big B will probably stay exactly the same as you'd suggested although they may return to limiting what can be bought with it, such as banning sugar or meat. The idea is that the low income need to be parented about our purchases to begin with and soon that parenting will become more strict🤔

Well,they probably make a descent amount of income and, more than likely don’t need them! Thank God Not Everyone In America Is Disabled or Elderly and Needs them, some people are able to work,wish, I could and wasn’t disabled, it’s not exactly the way, I wanted to live my life! I’d rather be able to work than have to go through some of the stuff, I have to put up with, it’s not a thrill ride!

They increased this and that but no increase in amounts meanwhile the prices of groceries continue to go up we are able to buy less and less food 😡

It’s not a lie, the Federal Health Emergency wasn’t permanent and, you were all told that it was just temporary, so, be grateful cause, others aren’t getting it and, quit complaining! Thank God you got it being the Pandemic when, most of us didn’t!

EBT is out of control and needs to be reformed. There are SO many people abusing the system. There is no way that people on the system should be able to get cupcakes, sweets/junk food, seafood, any food that is prepared for them (for example, using snap to get subs and other food being prepared for them). They should be required to buy the lunch meat, bread, etc and make their own sandwich. Why should I pay for their sub AND make it? There should be drug tests, required updates and required job application or benefits get cut. There are people who physically/mentally need assistance and I'm fine with that. But there are way too many people who are perfectly capable of working, and they don't because there's no reason to. Why go to work when the benefits allow you to get whatever you want. There just needs to be more accountability on all parties involved to ensure that the system is working the way it was intended to. Right now, it isn't. There are too many abusing it. For example, a gentleman came into a store recently and used food stamps to buy filet mignon and drove away in a Land Rover. Yes, a Land Rover. If you can afford to drive that, you can afford your own food. Stop living off of your fellow citizens.

Yes, you got a COLA Raise on your SSI, it went from $914 to 943 a month! We are in February and Next Month will be March!
