    We did the Musical Afternoon Tea (we have no comparison to Discovery 2) we found it absolutely lovely, the venue was well decorated for the event, and the items on the table really added to the special feeling. But we did also have an issue with allergies/non requested items too. I’m a Coeliac, which Voyager had been amazing with during the whole cruise, so was delivered a completely separate food display but (big but) I also have a Strawberry allergy, I mean full anaphylactic, epi pen level allergy! When booking the tea on board we advised Destination Experience’s of this and was told it wasn’t a problem as Voyager had ‘no strawberries on board due to port restrictions’ 🤔 Now I knew I had seen strawberries on other menus and in the kitchens too, so doubted this info. Drinks were delivered, and were soon followed by the Strawberry 🍓 Soup 😮! 🤦‍♀️I quickly pointed out about my allergy, and this was removed, lots of chatter, looks and pointing from serving staff 😳 (slightly embarrassing). Apologises given and shortly afterwards I was brought a small bowl of pea soup was brought out (which was lovely). Overall we loved the Musical Afternoon Tea, the singing, pomp, and the general fun of it all, but if you advise of allergies or other food issues then these should be very seriously, highlighted underlined and in capitals etc.

    Hi Barney, it is extremely alarming to see that mistakes are happening with regards to food allergies, for you it could have had much more of a serious outcome. Can fully understand concerns and hope Marella tighten up their act. So glad you commented because i do think its so important to get everyones view. I always try and say that our experience on the day would be very different to many other people and i think our experience was hampered by a number of different things. I am sure many people will enjoy the experience as you did. I also think that they do take a lot of care and give a lot of thought to the presentation. Finally i do think it still represents excellent value for money. Thanks for watching and for taking time to give us a very well thought out comment. 🚢🚢🚢🌞🌞🌞🙂🙂🙂

    This is what worries me. My wife is Gluten Free & if she eats anything with gluten in it then she is very unwell afterwards. More care needs to be shown with allergies etc so it's a good job none of you had an allergy with fish or eggs. Great video Mike.

    Did concern us too, i was surprised because they always asked at every restaurant we went too, so i do believe mistakes would be very rare and it is taken seriously, i hope ours was just unfortunate but could have been nasty as you say. I think my best advice would be to find waiting staff that you can be confident are understanding you with a good level of English. It would appear that items on the menu are displayed as Gluten free.

    Hi Paul, we did not expect any refunds at all, the manager offered the refund at the meeting, i felt all our party was affected therefore the refund should apply to all of us not just the 2 of us, not upset that it didn't, worth asking but i was more upset that she didn't get back to us as stated. I believe that you should get what you pay for, we did not, i also believe that you should be fair with complimenting good service as well as complaining about bad. We try to do this. But respect your opinion.

    If raising an important safety issue concerning serving wrong food which could have been serious is being Karen-esque, then guilty as charged! @@WhoopsieDaisesTV
