Welcome to What Yacht To Do, a Great Loop Documentary. Today Rev and Sam are moving from Utschs' Marina in Cape May, New Jersey to Hoffman's Marina in Manasquan Inlet, New Jersey.

I can't imagine that inlet on anything but a slack tide! Great Job!

Yes, it can be a challenge, like most of the NJ inlets!
When I was 15 I had my friend out on my Boston Whaler. I tied up at Hoffman's to get some fuel. It was low tide & my friend said "Hey, I'm going to leap up here & get us a couple of sodas.". He misjudged & when he went to leap his feet pushed my boat out a little bit and the dock was under his armpits. He tried with his toes to catch the side rail of my boat but he kept missing. After a few seconds he slipped and plunged into the water. He quickly scrambled into my boat and was sitting down leaning on his elbows. It was October so he had on a wool sweater, jeans, sneakers. He tried pulling it off like it was refreshing or something. That's when the attendent walked up to ask me what I needed but he froze & looked down into my boat at my friend and said "What happened?" Then when we finally made it back to McCarthy's Marina (across from River Rock right next to the Rt 35/70 bridge he had to ride his bike home drenched in salt water & it was cold outside. The guy is now a detective in my town. Cheers!
