    What kind of settings did you use for monitoring? With my P6K Pro only having 1.33 and 2.0X desqueeze and my two monitors only supporting 1.33, 1.5, and 2.0, I find it a bit of a pain to monitor. I wish BM would add more desqueeze options into the cameras!

    Hi great video. The stabilisation issue is down to the anamorphic aspect. The S5 stabilises this noticeably worse than say a 28 or 35 with a similar field of view and even worse than a spherical 50. But I think it’s just because of the stretch factor as the sides are bound to be more affected by any movement on the rolling axes.

    Thanks for the feedback on this lens. I have shot 3 features with the Sirui anamorphics and love them but this lens seems to solve all of the issues I had with those lenses and now I can use on pocket 6ks. This was a demo version right? I think they are fixing the focus ring issues in production right now

    Have you ever talked about the formats and settings you mostly shoot in for clients with your BMPCC 6K: 1080/4K/6K (Proress or BRAW) and why you recommend them as your go to favorite? And what formats you rarely shoot in? Thank you. Love your channel :-)

    Thanks !! I used to shoot 90% of my content in Prores 422 UHD with my bmpcc4k and 6k since it is a great codec for licensing and deliverables. Now with the Pro I shoot in 6K BRAW either 12:1 or Q5 so I can go back to Gen4 in Davinci :)

  • @kwstaogerobill

    Great review. Just a question. When pulling focus and changes squeeze factor how you can fix it in post. We have to change squeeze factor in post as well and have to zoom and crop so creates a dolly zoom effect? Or isn't that bad and noticeable pulling focus?

  • @OfTwoLands

    @OfTwoLands

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks !! It means that you kinda have to figure out what the squeeze factor is for that specific shot. You don't notice it as much when pulling focus since you you don't 'stay' on the same subject. It's more when you move towards and away to re frame.

    I'd love to get one, since I can actually shoot with a smaller setup using my Lumix S1. It has 1.8x de-squeeze in-camera, and a special anamorphic stabilisation mode. Put together, it ticks all the boxes for just using this lens handheld and light (probably still with a follow focus and cage though). The image looks great. Worth it for the price, but I'll probably still wait it out for a bit before taking a 1500 dollar plunge

    3:44 theoriticaly yes but that Lumix cameras has really bad rolling shutter, at open gate rolling shutter is even worse. if you want shoot with that combo just forget fast camera movement, stick just static shots.

    I love the look you get from 1.8x or 2x but the impracticality makes it very situational for me. I’m looking forward to the loawa nanomorphs. I think they have the compromises in the right place there, where it makes it practical enough to use more broadly as an independent film maker.

  • @OfTwoLands

    It can be a bit too much yes, but I think on a full frame 4:3 1.8x looks pretty sweet and also makes more sense :)

    @@OfTwoLands Yes if you have something like open gate on a Panasonic s1h then it is definitely a different story. I have very little personal anamorphic experience though so this is just my thoughts but the variable squeeze factor is the thing that scares me. It seems like it could be a lot of extra post production. The nanomorphs seems to be the only budget anamorphic without that problem.

  • @colinthomas2525
