I'd argue the opposite. This was normal craftmanship in the day. We would struggle to make such items now, they would be prohibitively expensive.

Pretty sure that Myochin tsuba is the one which Fred Lohman reproduced. Could be wrong, but they look identical. I have lusted after it for years...amazing to see it crop up here, looks great on the video.

Very interesting. You do a great job. Consider doing a video about optics/binoculars. I’ve seen tables of them in the background of some of the shows you attend and would love to learn more.
