Great Dorset Steam Fair 2022
The Great Dorset Steam Fair (abbreviated GDSF, and since 2010 also known as The National Heritage Show) is an annual show featuring steam-powered vehicles and machinery. It now covers 600 acres and runs for five days. It is reputedly the largest collection of steam and vintage equipment to be seen anywhere in the world. The fair was founded by the Dorset Steam & Historic Vehicle Club, and has been held in Dorset, England, every summer since 1969. The most numerous exhibits are traction engines, tractors and farm machinery, but there are also sections for classic cars and commercial vehicles, working shire horses, rustic crafts, 'bygones' displays, and more. The show also has a market, autojumble, live music and funfair (some of which is powered by the steam engines).

2022 was my first time at GDSR and absolutely loved it. Thanks for capturing the moment so comprehensively.

This is probably the best video to highlight how great the steam fair is. Nicely filmed and edited. Thanks

Thank you Steve. Comments like that make it all worthwhile.
Would love to go to that, Well done congratulations to the organisers for a great show. Cheers from NZ
This made my night watching the Great Dorset Steam Fair. Lots of work and excellently captured, Syd. Went to the Gloucester Steam Fair in 2018 and I could not get enough, just a fraction of this and I could not get enough. Greetings from Durban, South Africa.

It is not on 2023. They have financial issues. Everyone is keeping fingers crossed that it has not closed permanently.
Thank you, Syd 🙂 I can’t quite believe that the GDSF hasn’t been on my bucket list before but it is now!

Try to spend more than 1 day there. Even 2 days is not enough.
Very nice video, I was there and you have captured the general ambience of the event very well!

Beautifully filmed and edited. Pity it’s not on smellivision!
A great shame it was cancelled in 2023, let's hope and pray it comes back for 2024...

Unfortunately it's been cancelled so far, The rise in Costs have become unviable for it to run
I see you had a harrowing experience ! One of the perks of the photographer vest ? Also surprised to see 2 Mk1V tanks there, I thought there was only 1 running replica.

A bit nerve racking having to jump on after the harrows were down and moving.

@@SydHutchinson Your interview on tractor pulling was vaguely reminiscent of Jack Hargreaves, Out of Town (you have to squint a bit)

@@josephjackson5282 Sue wasn't allowed into the area without hi-viz so had to do camera, audio and microphone all on my own, therefore the audio level was too low hence the subtitles.
The place looks deserted, and at £30 on the gate, it is no wonder.

£30 Is a bargain for what you get.
