Thanks a lot for hosting these, COH1 is one of my favourite games ever and the best game in its genre. I really like your casts and hope there is more COH1 games cast on your channel!

Keeping the Lt and the command tank alive is crucial for vanilla coh brits. The firefly for example, is a great TD but has such a severely slow fire rate. The command tanks aura helps to alleviate it with a faster reload speed amongst other things.

vanilla coh / vcoh refers to the US/wehr matchup without alt units, not the first game.

@@SpectreFTL well those of us that still play coh 1 but with mods (personally the blitzkrieg mod for realistic PvP) refer to the base game (Brits and PE included) as vanilla to specificy unmodded

Man, what strikes me is how quickly everything seems to move in CoH1. Only ever played CoH2, but holy moly... CoH1 makes everything go skkrrt, skkrrt.

Loved the British mobile base design in the first CoH.

Dude You got me hooked on this Game.. I haven't played against anyone yet. but I do enjoy playing the game. hopefully one day we gotta play against each other or send me some pointers.

I like this Caster. Unique and Talented. bcoZ he is a little bit of fast talker(speed rap casting) he has a good skills of Reading players atak and also reacting to it.Hitting some punchline words.

@aecoh would love to see a high level cast of USF vs PE. I always struggled against them and never knew the way to play it

Missed British mines and démolition charge from commando And infantry retreat to captain, and hq remove to retreat spooning (and lovely mg) That infantry, with a lieutenant, would have do something. But it would be all different game I guess

Probably rust but I expected more mines from the Brit player. PE don't get normal sweepers like the other factions and need the cap speed upgrade which also allows them to spot mines but *only when the squad is static*. Either that and/or an HQ glider so he could get HMG vickers commandos to punish the blobs with tea-divine machine gun suppression

Is there any mod that allows you to play mirror matches, pe vs wehr, brit vs amer etc?

Blitzkrieg mod older versions would allow you to do that, but not anymore.

PE shreks were cursed. Couldn't reload to save their lives, would destroy their own cover if placed in it. Only the 2x shrek commander upgrade redeemed them at all, and even then only because you had a 2nd chance to not miss., not because it made them good in any way lol.

Well someone doesn't know what he is talking about saying the PIAT was the worst weapon ever. Considering it was literally one of the best AT weapons of the war. More tabks were destroyed by PIATs than by CAS rockets in the Normandy campaign. The main benefit of a PIAT being that it didn't reveal the shooters location which is the reason bazooka teams had the highest mortality rate of any soldier in ww2.

Brit made some real mistakes with his tanks, they kept getting hit in the rear. Feel a machine gun next to hold mid would have been useful.

Yeah eh, without a bren gun section with a Lt nearby to boot; the British don't have much infantry anti-infantry firepower since the recce upgrade whilst nice to get the pay munitions to kill a model, will tax your munitions and it also reduces the DPS output due to reload speeds I believe as well. Something around 30% or so. Trying to then fight late game Wehr or PE with maxed out vet means you're then just not doing nearly enough DPS to win fights. Commandos are deadly but without vet buffs from a Lt, trying to fight STG grens with triple vet just doesn't end well

Brit inf units strongest in the game. PE has to play masterfully to get hard earned vet to start competing.

How does this almost 20 years game looks better than coh 2 is beyond me

The moment english dropped that 17 pounder on the map I instantly knew he was gonna win, great placement Napoleon isn't very good at micro at this point, but he could've won the game if he kept his panther group advantaged and pushed the moment he won that tank battle, what cost him his victory when he gave English breathing room whilst the opponent didn't. Great play by English here

So PE aren't completely useless after nerfs?

You always go defensive vet on first one on tanks. 20% dmg reduction is too good. I think inf you go atleast def on the last one if i remember correctly.

Brit player's micro was horrendous, especially with the Firefly losses. Jeez.

Also, Songs in chat really knows his stuff. I had no idea all these years that APCR from TD doctrine has hidden changes: it's +35% (rather than the listed 30%) to penetration values, but ATHT and Hetzer AOE values get set to 0.1 (no effect on Panther AOE). Not huge, but still something the game coulda mentioned.

It always astounded me how such a well designed game had a follow up expansion that was designed so poorly it still makes me mad to this day watching it. The British faction damn near ruined this game. I don't understand at all how they nailed the us vs wher match up but than totally fumbled the ball with the British. As you said, the brits are cancerous. Everything about the british faction design is antithetical to the design principals that guided the pre expansion gameplay loop. It's disgusting it really is. The brits are some of the worst game design I've ever seen in a game. I personally think someone on the design team was getting stupidity salty about his turtleing style being pwned all the time and decided to make a faction that ruined the game for everyone else in favor a lazy and campy play style. The sheer difference in the amount of effort the axis player has to do combat the brits is so mismatched. Brit players hardly need any micro nor any macro because of their trucks. Brit player can play at a very lazy tempo and still see good results. You can tell in the match the PE player had a play a much faster and frantic rate while putting a magnitude more micro and macro. The brit player can't even bother to point his 17 pounder in the correct direction half the time in this match. So glad the PE player won this, the british player didn't deserve any of the map control or points advantage they had for most of the game. The brits broke coh1 and it baffles me how relic doubled down on their design failure in coh2. Somebody that was working for that company had no business touching anything about game design and to this day I hope they have had to switch careers due to incompetence in game design. Fuck the brits. Yes I'm still salty about this a nearly 15 years later. I got mad just watching this match.

Amen! I agree to every word of that. I play CoH1 to this day August 2022, and they are straight cancer. Stacking leut bonus, sprint bugs, trucks controlling 2/3 of the map, high HP and attack inf, arty spam, instant drop leut arty, super armoured super attack cheap Staghounds, free indestructible trenches, 17-pounder way too strong, brens on basic match, the list goes in forever. Brain dead high reward faction, they can carry an entire 3v3 match.

@@odycz fucking I don't even remember making this post, nor making it that long LOL. I still stand by what I said tho. There was a specfic patch where brit OP bullshit peaked I think that was the 2.301(we're talking like 15 year ago) patch or some such like that. It wasn't impossible to beat sim cities fellers, quite easy with walking stukas but it was just tedius and unfun.

Whilst the graphics on COH3 seem to be more detailed it has taken something away from the game compared to this. CoH1 drawn graphics and the lack of environment clutter make it a better game, visually

Why does coh1 look better than coh3 xd

COH1 has its charm, I might give the campaign another playthrough. I find this match inexplicable though. So much blobbing from PE, and floating from brits. No AT guns. Having just watched the International Classic series though I am biased towards the best of the best in COH2 though haha.
