This is why England is called the cultural capital of world. I love these things, its very English and keeping English culture intact with the modern era. Hats off to the uploader for uploading these documentaries. It has been a perfect companion for COVID 19 lockdown.

Thank you Rajeev! My reason for uploading these videos was simply to share the sheer joy of the canals Tim and Pru sail on, and the detail of their work. It's simply wonderful. These are strange times indeed, just mentioning the word Covid-19 makes me stop and just think "is this REALLY happening!?!" Today is my first day of Furlough, I'm an hgv driver from Manchester and my company have placed me on 80% of my salary as from this coming Monday (30th March) . The good news for you is that if you search KZread you may just find all 10 Series they have made. Series 9, Episode 3 is the one I waited forever to actually see. The Bridgewater Canal. Worsley is where I live, I drive by the canal twice a day, or I did!, going to work and coming back. It is the epicentre of the Industrial Revolution. The 1st purpose built canal in the UK for Industrial purpose. Good luck finding the other Series!!! Enjoy!!

I pray that God blesses me with such a woman to grow old with. This is so beautiful and all the money in the world can't buy such a blessing. 💕

I am an atheist but I feel blessed to have known two such women, and even though my wife passed prematurely in 2011 I was fortunate to meet my present partner to share the rest of my life with. Even as an atheist I feel it is abhorrent to call religion a cancer - it is someone's profound belief and should be respected as our local vicar respects my beliefs. So lighten up and show respect.

This would be my fourth time watching the complete series. I always find something interesting that I’ve missed. Well done Tim & Prunella.

What a beautiful film, brings back so many wonderful memories, I love would really love to go back to the boat I so enjoyed with my wonderful mate and the best crew in in the world.

Now those are absolutely decent and marvelous people.

We do not always appreciate the true beauty & splendor of our little island .Until you see it from this perspective.. I took a deep breath & found I have slowed down about 5mph after watching this. Ahhhhhhhmmmmmmm!!!😁

So elegantly and sensitively revealed that even though inflicted with a hampering disability, this wonderful couple has taken us on this fairytale journey. I saw it all through their eyes and felt it with their hearts. Who needs aught else. This is life itself!! I am too in the autumn of the years but in the wrong part of this wonderful planet. Bless you and continue journeying.

Stumbled upon this one by accident and I love it.. kindda romantic about their them, their story and the stunning scenery of the British countryside.

Prunella still has the most beautiful blue eyes. Her lovely smile too, such a happy couple still after all these years.

just watched this for the first time. omg how beautiful.

I have a signed photo of Mr West -I've always thought him and Miss Scales wonderful actors .....but what wonderful people they are ! Love and bless them both .Will say .....Mr West will always be, to me, King Edward - and Miss Scales.......😉

The most wonderful and touching video I have ever watched regarding the canals and combined with a love story a half century in the making, just magical. Praying for continued happiness to you both, 3 years belated as I write this.

We have had some wonderful years watching these two great performers show us the correct way to deal with what life throws at us. I love the canals of the U.K. and the beautiful places you can see from them. No rushing from place to place, totally unwind from the hectic pace of life. Watching these two even in their advanced years shows that your never too old to have adventures.

Amazing that she can get around opening the locks like that at 82!

This is a fantastic series, hosted by two very charming people. As an American, I've yet to visit the UK but when I do, I fully plan to travel at least a bit of the canal system there. I lived aboard a sport fishing boat in Key West, Florida for a time and would love to see how the canals compare. This series gives me wonderful insight that may not have been available to me by other means. Thank you for uploading this. Beautifully done.

First time here... I'm going to watch the entire series... This is a heart felt journey through a beautiful countryside, with a couple that truly love each other and their canals... In today's world this is very rare... We are only dancing in life for a short time enjoy every minute of it... Thank you for sharing...

Timothy and Prue what a wonderfull story , I was touched greatly by this storey , go on forever,

Never thought a canal video give me such a new perspective of life! If I’m half as happy as they are at their age, I have fulfilled my life purpose.

Wonderful programme made all the better by my favourite couple , prunella and Timothy. So obviously still in love after many years. An inspiration to us all.

This is just the best series! Have watched all of them and will again. A bit of history and a love story that improves with age! Be sure to watch the ones where they cruise all over, France, Egypt! They are pure magic! I still keep tabs on both of them! They were like family and speaking of family you get to meet their’s!

Thank you Mr. Cole for the programming. Hubs and I are glued to the TV with this series. Not only is it entertaining we have fallen under Tim and Pru's spell as they are so delightful. When you have lost someone to that horrible disease you can see the tell tale signs of the fading away in poor Pru's eyes. You have made it possible for us to watch this series as we can not play region 2 discs here in the states. So thanks again as it is very much appreciated.

You're very welcome! It is such a beautiful series that I just had to share it and put it "out there". There are so many more series to watch too, a little search here on KZread will reveal many many more. There is a recent episode on the Bridgewater Canal which begins in Worsley, Manchester. Worsley is literally 3-5 minutes drive in a car from where I live, and literally a picture postcard splendour. Very historic too, some say the epicentre of the Industrial Revolution as the mines, owned by the Duke of Ellesmere, provided the cotton mills in Manchester with coal to power them. Manchester, back in it's day, was called Cottonopolis as 3/4 of the World's textiles were manufactured there. Really interesting stuff. I travel through the Village of Worsley to work and back every day.

I’m in the same age bracket. Never been on a boat like that and have never been in Europe. Sure enjoy seeing a different way of life. 👍👍

A lovely show and a beautiful couple.

Lovely to see these two enjoying their lives together. They are so obviously in love with one another, even after fifty years and with Pru's encroaching dementia. To see their mutual affection is incredibly moving. Thank you so much for uploading these programs!

It's such a lovely and natural video , nothing fake or contrived about this wonderful couple ,what a great trip

We are cruising the Great Loop right now. It has been fantastic but now we are talking about European canal cruising afterward, thanks to Pru and Tim. What an inspiring series and lovely couple !

I find this travelogue absolutely fascinating - that is the good feeling. I also find this maddening because I wish I could be doing the same journey - and that is the bad feeling. But the worst feeling is knowing that ever going on such a journey is absolutely impossible for someone living in the US. Prunella I loved you in Faulty Towers but I adore you for sharing this memoir.

Inga Eubanks There is no reason why this is impossible for anyone! Find a friend and book a holiday here, you can hire a bot easily. If you don't fancy tackling it yourself, there are multiple hotel boats that take small numbers of passengers who are free to participate as much or as little as they wish.

Where I live, there are 2 abandoned canals: The Welland Ship Canal. Watching this video brought me great joy. That people took the time to restore and use Canals from the past....
