Where would you recommend getting the game from?

Contrary to popular belief horses did charge lines of people. Lieutenants Moore and Malcolmson at the battle if Khoosh-ab in 1857 received Victoria's Crosses for their role in an action that saw them break into a Persian square. Their horses were killed under them. The benefit of a square over say a line is that it had no real rear to flank and while horses could be prompted to charge home it was risky. What happened is that it would funnel the cavalry into confined spaces where they could be attacked with shot. This would often lead to charges being called off.

Is there a way to turn off the cohesion factor in Empire 2? It's leading to my units routing way too early destroying my lines

I just do a clean install everytime i change mods

When i was playing Empire 2 mod i wanted to play as Maratha confederacy in custom battles but when i went to select it Maratha confederacy was not there how do i fix that?

Hi, great video! What mods do you add onto that to get the extra regiments and uniforms? I have NTW3 is it similar?

All the units r in the mod u just have to pick either early or late in order to get those specific units and it's a little bit similar to ntw3

Sorry but i dont do installation videos but this what i do when i installed etw2 1. Put the data folder in ETWII_3 to the empire data folder 2. Do the same for ETWII_3.4 and ETWII_3.4.4 3. Copy the script file (early or late) from ETWII_3 and paste it into the script folder of Empire (Optional) If u want to use submods, put it in the Empire data folder

Do you use windows 10 or 11? I am having trouble trying to download the mod

I have been playing campaign as the british but I can't seem to get the troops, I've had the tech and the buildings but it by passes them to the 1800s soldiers. I can get them in battles only just not campaign, any suggestions? Thanks

If you're talking about the regiments u see here in the video, then u can only recruit them in america (idk why)

the English general should've had each regiment volley fire at the first sight of those Hindu yeoman, there is no reason why they gotten so close as they did with their swords...

Do you have reshape on by chance? Looks great

This uniforms are from "Uniforms from american revolution" mod, isn't it? The first time i played this mod i didnt saw such uniforms, and btw, those look amazing!

Correction: Regiments of American Revolution mod And ya, the earlier etw2 version did not have those, and i'd say it's the best looking uniforms in the mod, the detail is just so good.

ETW is still my Total War game of choice, from the very beginning in 2009, despite previous widely more praised TW games. Once I got into mods in TW Center there was no turning back - switching manually a dozen of bigger mods with ETW folder inflated to obsessive-compulsive mod hoarding proportions. Kept zipped files too. Imperial Destroyer, one of my greatest, but alas the crashiest, favorites with its 5 GB is nothing compared to 27 GB of Russian made Pirates mod. Through sleepless nights I played with ETW, NTW, Shogun 2 editors changing stats to my liking, for a short duration I was bug tester for one of the 2018 or 2019 updates of Imperial Splendor Rise of the Republic. Forgot because in 2019 I stopped playing altogether, deleted everything including 800 gigs of mods for TW (mostly TW center with ton of stuff for almost every TW game), all of the Bethesda stuff (Nexus mods), Stalker trilogy (ModDB) etc. As a middle aged old autistic fart who's starting all over again with life in impoverished distopian country, when I did the "great KZread gaming purge" I kept your channel because it was very small and niche. Now after three years this pleasant drug called ETW mods, ETW and NTW based KZread channels and especially untried ETW2, calls me to relapse. I enjoy your videos very much.

Totally unrealistic. The tactic of Infantry forming squares against Cavalry charges was because you could not get a horse to charge into a line of people. The horse simply would not do it.

This is a hotly debated matter with no clear answer. Often, horses at a full gallop trained for war simply couldn't turn, so they would instead barrel ahead in panic - this is how ancient cataphracts and medieval knights so often charged spear walls head on, for instance. In the gunpowder age, cavalry charges were often taken at a trot or a canter instead of a gallop, to avoid casualties from a potentially failed charge, and so the horses had more control.

Also, horses in this period rarely had armour, and were often not expensive warhorses but just standard fare, so their momentum was less, and their fear of battle was greater.
