The original Bass line is brilliant ...and you completely nailed the content, tone, and articulation , while adding your own personality. Great post!
I'm not usually a fan of people messing about in play along covers, but that fill at 1:08 is just fantastic 👌 Great work.

David Carajo is Great !
One of the most iconic basslines in pop music ... and played perfectly :)
Absolutely great! Just what this bass player needed first thing this morning! Perfect tone, attack, and Bass! Thank you my friend...
Knew this song for so long but never realized how great the bass line is. Great bassline, fantastic playing, great groove and a precision with flatwounds. Can't help it but this just puts a huge smile to my face.
Timing, accents, dynamics, intonation, ad libs, tone - all executed well. Best cover on KZread IMHO!
The guy plays his bass like a god. You can really see how he internalizes the rhythm, how he practically "lives" it. I think that's the only way it works. You can't just start playing the guitar and play like that straight away. I think it takes years of intensive training, but not by force, but by choice. When all these components come together, it becomes a work of art. A work of art that we can see and hear here. Thank you very much for that.
The people that disliked this video have no soul.
Dude, your cover is the best one online. And I did an extensive search and gave each one a thorough listen. You’re on point down to the quantum level and sound the most natural. Thank you!
Muy buen cover. Un gran homenaje a David Hungate ,bajista de Toto, quien grabó la versión original.
I now see/hear this song with other eyes/ears. You showed us the beauty of it.
David, this is unbelievably good. Technique, sound, feel, everything is perfect. You've inspired me to take my practicing with a plectrum more seriously. Thanks for sharing this gift with the world. I love your fills, too.
Definitely the best cover on the internet!!!! You nailed it my friend!!!!!!
I always come back to this video for some positive energy!
Cool that you're still around, remember watching your RHCP covers when I was a teenager.
Love the added licks.
Being here for so long I remember you playing this on your black musicmaster! Cheers from Italy!
Vraiment heureux que tu nous refasses quelques covers! Toujours de qualité! ;)
The sound, the playing, the improvisation…just off the wall! This cover is AMAZING!
You are the first bass player on KZread to get all the slides right in this tune! Congrats and well played.👍
Your passion shows. Makes the playing so much fun to watch.
Probably my favorite bass line ever
David, awesome. I started on drums in1966, and quickly switched to bass when my parent's asked if I might want to play something a little "quieter". Needless to say, I was rattling every joist in our two story home shortly there after. Tim Bogert from Vanilla Fudge was my favorite rock bassists back then on his Telecaster bass. Was "torn" between buying one of those or a Kustom bass in 1968. Both were about $270. Got the Kustom along with silver face bassman. Still have both. Decided to finally learn this, my favorite baseline of all times. You are having so much fun playing it, it brought back lots of memories from my band days. Great job, and thanks!

Love your videos David. It's one thing to be technically proficient. It's another to emulate the 'feel'. You certainly do. Cheers!
I needed to learn that song on bass for a band audition I'm having this week and now KZread recommends that video to me? That can't be a coincidence! And no, I didn't use KZread to play this song.
One of the best sounding I've heard! Totally nailed the groove! 👍
Awesome!
This song puts me in a great mood, and you my friend nailed it!!! Great cover !
That was impressive. Sounded fantastic in my Audio Technica's
This brings me so much joy, David. Thank you. The bass line itself is amazing and your performance was mint!
now that's a proper old school bass playing. Really enjoyed the tune and playing all the way. Love those fillings. Like and keep up the good work.

@@justjames5859 Cheers for that. I didn't realise. My bad. Stellar in any case.
Only bass players understand the joy of being in the pocket and playing a beautiful bass part, they don’t even have to be hard, the 4th bar of I want your love by Chic being a prime example of an easy lick that just makes the song joyous to play.
I had to watch this with my eyes close and could feel the joy you put into rocking your instrument thank you so much keep it up

Yeah no lie Ive been taking vocals more serious and that song resonates to every lyric with the girl I wanna be with so I wanted to see people play it on piano bass and guitar just to see what's behind the music which they were excellent at but the bass is my favorite and that passion is what I'm talking about I swear some tears came out 💯
So much fun. Right on. Hats off Mr Caraccio Just Awesome
