I admire John for being brave in telling and showing her how she meant to him through the years. They loved each other (looks like an on and off secret relationship) but couldn't be together and get married. Aside from the timing wasn't right (it's in her book), they have different religious beliefs. So they just decided to end up as best friends, supportive in good and bad times, and marry people who remind them of each other. This can be the reason why she likes her song I Honestly Love You more now (and John said he could only wish that song was for him)

John is so sweet. He absolutely loved Olivia then and it hasn't change with time. That's true love.

I remember meeting Travolta at the Udvar Hazy Center. I was part of the original security team there. He was a very nice guy and very friendly and had soft spoken way about him.

I was a man in the 70's and John is exactly right. I was not into musicals but I loved Olivia!

Oh Olivia. What a sweetheart. I cannot believe that you are gone. Rest in peace beautiful angel. John and Olivia were a perfect match!!! John is such a good man.

Thank you so much for sharing this precious moment :) it so good to see they had the chance to reunite the cast so now and then. I was only 5 yrs old when this musical came out, but the soundtrack was always part of the everydays life. We will miss Olivia and the cast that already passed away before. @@speedlearner hi, all the songs are somehow, cause they make part of my childhood and they are uplifting, Summer Nights is for sure one of my favorites. But in first place I like the main track by Frankie Valli. This song was played so many times, where my dad used to build huge speakers and test them over and over again himself. Although it was not performed by Olivia or Travolta, the Grease main track, along many other 70's disco music had a good bass, low/ mid/ high pitch, perfect for speakertest. As a kid age 5, I was able to recognize songs only by the bass/ rithme, without the instruments/ voices - would be a great America Got Talent challenge :D

@@campusaalst Although it's true that Frankie Valli sung the Grease theme, Barry Gibb wrote the song. That's a true testament to Barry Gibb's genius. I'm impressed with your dad's job. I bet he was able to attend very popular concerts. What performers did he get to see as he did his job?

@@speedlearner Not sure what concerts/ artists he met. He was a great fan of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, ABBA, Amanda Lear and Blondie. Later he added Kraftwerk, Vangelis and Jean-Michel Jarre. But his vinyl collection reached in the hundreds, of which Grease was one of them :) and oh it was his hobby, not his job. Yes, the older brother of the 'four' Bee Gees was a genius indeed. What a pity the youngest of them (Andy) passed away too early, he was a good companion with Olivia, as was Barry. No wonder their albums were in my dad's collection, we're talking about the real disco music era here. So yes, I have a deep connection with the music from another generation :P

Wow, Mario Lopez interviewing the movie Grease cast before he himself was cast in "Grease Live" as Vince Fontaine! And, the just-passed Olivia admitting how reluctant she was in doing Grease showed how caring she truly was about other people opinions of her. R.I.P.

It’s so sad John and Olivia never ended up marrying each other for real, they was always perfect for each other.

I read an article that briefly touched on that. I can't remember the year that it said Olivia was married to her first husband, but she might've been by the time they did "Grease", but I definitely remember one or the other saying that they were both involved with other people, but they did feel something and wanted to act on it, but didn't out of respect for their significant others. It might've been nice to see what their lives would've been like with each other.

I was thinking that as well, but as I said in my original post I will give him a pass because he was wearing a boot and he obviously injured himself. So I'm guessing it might be difficult for him to stand for long periods of time. 🤔🤔

I’ve noticed that Stockard Channing doesn’t really like to do reunions. I’ve watch this thing on tv, where they had the cast and it had some facts about the movie (how they made the movie the movie and all that other stuff when it came to movie documentaries) so I think it’s just the fact that she really isn’t big on reunions and such

I’ve never seen Stockard Channing in any of these reunions. She probably isn’t interested or she’d attend. She’s a very busy lady and had a successful career and I’m sure she loves this movie and the cast but that’s as far as it goes.

Cause when I was watching the documentary on how they made the movie big and everything it had all the cast except for Rizzo. So something tells me she really isn’t keen on reunions

seriously???🤣🤣Karen couldn't pull off either exceptionally sweet and innocent and totally sexy/seductive. Olivia was perfection. Plus had anyone other than Olivia been in that role the songs "You're the One That I Want" and "Hopelessly Devoted to You" would not have been in the movie.
